View Full Version : Anyone here like the band Evanescence? anonymous2 11-10-04, 06:04 PM I like their songs "My Immortal" and "Going Under". whitewolf 11-10-04, 06:25 PM I heard they're good. Are they, really? Like, how good? anonymous2 11-10-04, 06:34 PM I heard they're good. Are they, really? Like, how good? That depends on someone's viewpoint and taste in music I suppose. :) They're.. hmm, I don't know what category to put them in really. My Immortal is like a ballad I guess and Going Under is .. hmm, wacky stuff, haha.. do you have access to Launch? It's a free music thingie through Yahoo. Go to http://www.launch.com/ if you're interested. Thor 11-10-04, 07:03 PM They'er classed as Nu-Metal/Coldwave Industrial/Wannabe Light Gothic. And they aren't very good in my eyes and I'm a huge coldwave fan. anonymous2 11-10-04, 07:15 PM They'er classed as Nu-Metal/Coldwave Industrial/Wannabe Light Gothic. And they aren't very good in my eyes and I'm a huge coldwave fan. Which bands do you like under those categories? I might wanna check them out. Thanks. Dreamwalker 11-10-04, 07:16 PM They aren't bad, at least not on the CDs... but they are veeeery bad live, especially that chick that really cannot sing (live)... whitewolf 11-10-04, 07:29 PM Sounds like female whining. It's for boys. I'll be the little girl: Boys are stupid. :D :m: Thor 11-10-04, 07:31 PM Cripes, never expected to be asked that. Okay, here goes... Gravity Kills Celldweller Die Krupps (I'm probably the only one here who'd class them as Coldwave) Some Ministry songs are good I'd also class Rammstein under that label Stabbing Westward (bit pop-like but still) Zeromancer Chaos Zero Gemini Five Static - X Powerman 5000 Crossbreed Jerk Rob Zombie (and White Zombie) Just a quick list, just some of the more well known ones. Not guarenteeing you'll like most of this as, well, not many people do. But I love it! But if you want singing like the chick from Evan, try Artrosis. Also, if you want something new and exciting, try Dope Stars Inc. There website has a few free MP3s and everyone who I know who has listened to it has loved it. And 'lo Dreamie vslayer 11-11-04, 06:14 AM i bought the album before i had any real musical taste, its really overproduced, kinda like metallica except more tolerable Closet Philosopher 11-11-04, 07:16 AM I think they're OK. I also think that they try too hard to have a certain type of lyrics that appeals to a specific audience. I think that the lead singer is talented (or al least in recording sessions with her voice altered) but her voice literally gives me a headache. Tristan 11-11-04, 11:38 AM Gravity Kills has a cool sound. I use to like em... But have you ever listened to their lyrics? Oh god, they are terrible! Its almost hard to listen without cringing when you hear thier retarded lines! Later T Athelwulf 11-11-04, 12:16 PM Oh, man. Evanescence has GREAT music! I can't even describe how great they are, they're so great! Tristan 11-11-04, 03:21 PM Meh, they arent that great. If that one chick hadnt done all those duets, they wouldnt of even been where they were. Athelwulf 11-11-04, 03:45 PM *Growl* Lori_7 11-11-04, 03:58 PM They aren't bad, at least not on the CDs... but they are veeeery bad live, especially that chick that really cannot sing (live)... That's weird...I saw them on a live tv show...like maybe hardrock live, or something like that, and she was amazing. I could not get over how well she sang live in that performance. She's got an amazing voice...really beautiful. But that new duet that's out right now with her and some dude whining about being "broken"...what a waste of talent. Dreamwalker 11-11-04, 04:02 PM Well, when I saw them some months ago, and she couldn't hold a key, I seldom heard someone singing that bad... amazing voice? I'll rather listen to Nightwish. Fraggle Rocker 11-11-04, 06:08 PM I love Evanescence. They and Audioslave are my favorite bands of this decade so far. I go all the way back to the 1950s when Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly were brand new. New bands still come along that make me as excited as those guys did. |
