I found some srange stuff on the ground last May. It seemed like small curled up wires of ice bunched up or or spread around the patio outside my bedroom window. It definetly wasn't snow, because there were no clouds and none of it was found anywhere else, and it survived the the (sunny) day without melting unless someone touched it. The wires were very thin, maybe a 1/2 centimeter thick, but there were a lot of them. Does anyone have a clue as to what these are?

What was it's temperature to the touch? What were the tactile properties? Was there an odor to it? Can you guess on the average length of the "wires"?
