I just got Kazaa and I am looking to expand my musical ear.

Does anyone have any music suggestions that I should download.

Might I ask why you get a great download site if you don't have any music that you like? It would seem to me that you should have some bands in mind that you like to listen to for we have no idea as to your tastes or musical needs. Just listen to the radio and find music you like then download those groups or artists.

I don't think anything will happen if youre not in the US though. I use Kazaa.

it depends on what type of music you like. has anybody ever heard of soulseeker or eDonkey

eDonkey/Overnet is good for big, popular files (zipped albums, movies, softare etc.). If you are looking for something rare and also if you prefer more "personal" approach, I suggest Direct Connect (or DC++ - a GNU client for the same network). On DC you can chat with other people while downloading, so you can learn about new interesting stuff. Most DC hubs (on DC you must connect to hub first) are also specialized - there are hubs for metal, movies etc., so you can find a community according to your tastes.
I would like to know more info about soulseek. I have heard a lot about it, but never tried it. Can somebody compare it to eDonkey and DC?

BTW: Kazaa sucks!

Soulseek is what I use, and I can tell you that its awesome. No spyware, good selection of popular and rare artists, not to mention some popular software (if you really wanted it.) You can find movies but don't expect to download files larger than episodes of the simpsons or music videos.
