any christian who TRULY practices their faith is a humanist, to be loving and kind.. But unfortunately it is in the human nature that we sin, the 7 deadly sins, from asians to blacks. So Joegirl, you can only try your best to be good for it is not easy. "We are called to be faithfull, not sucesfull"- Mother Theresa. We are called to love one another to our best, whether you can only give 1 hour of your time, and 3 dollars, or more, but we are not called to be succesfull, to afford giving away millions of dollars and serve the community 24 hrs, thats not the key, the key here is faithfullness whether in good times or bad times , succesfull or not, you tried yur best to be good in this life....
Regarding Mother Teresa, someone who could have saved many from terrible suffering and deliberately didn’t. She was not interested in helping people only in helping their souls reach her god. She was most definitely NOT a humanitarian. Humanism and Christianity are mutually exclusive, diametrically opposed systems. Humanism states that matter is eternal, that there is no God, that man and his environment are the result of evolutionary forces, that ethics is situational, that no one can possess absolute truth, that there is no life after death, that views of salvation are illusory and harmful, that man is the most important thing in the Universe, that man has no soul, that there is no heaven or hell, and so on. The word Christianity has been badly reduced over the preceding centuries. Regardless, secular Christianity is an oxymoron semantically, an impossibility spiritually and an unfortunate yet avoidable tragedy personally. See Romans 5:1. ><>
