Novus Ordo Seclorum
Manifest Destiny empirical edicts. The belief that economies must continually grow or they will fail. Paranoid power barons made the sale to homogenize the cultural petrie dish, or else.

Welcome to Sciforums.
Take care.
NAFTA is bull shit....the americans are just annexing canada with their economy, all the small canadian buiness is collapsing under american preasure...even large canadian companies such as ROOTS is owned or at least founded by americans.
also with in Nafta canada no longer reserves the rites to deny america its natural resources because its suppose to be fair for the US comapnies but all that does is make it un fair for canadian comapnies which are smaller and have no way to get larger if all the american companies keep buying up all the uesful real estate in canada. I wish canada would rip up nafta but its probably already too late as almost 80 percent of our exports go to them

Everyone either says that America is some unbeatable monster that will consume the world to make itself even stronger or that we are crumbling in upon ourselves. I wish people would make up their minds.
US is a big bully, ruffian

If we were that, we would threaten Canada. Instead, we will buy Canada. You can sell your souls to us, and thats alright, but we aren't going to steal them. If you can turn down a significant wad of cash thrust in your face, more power to you.

Globalization = internationalism. And then you're into unPC territory...
If we were that, we would threaten Canada. Instead, we will buy Canada.
What's the difference? You think one can't bully another with money? Haven't played much no-limit poker, have you?
We WOULD threaten Canada if we could, but these are different times where it's uncool to do so. After the World Wars, doing so basically ceased. Now if the international community didn't have the peace, love, and happiness motto, North America, and many other places, would have been completely ours a long time ago. But instead we just gotta resort to money to buy out countries while allowing them to keep their same name rather than having the U.S. seal on it. We're not nice because we want to be, but because we have to be. Gotta know how to manipulate one's way to achieve one's goals.

Globalization is a complex subject, some will argue it's just about "Free Trade" which is how the European Union got started. I dont think they called them "Free Trade Agreements" at the time but that is essentially what they were as I understand it. Gats Gatt Trips Wto ??? (http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=27795) (An old & dead thread but relevant!)
Globalization is about One World Goverment. Free trade should mean the worlds people are able to freely move from place to place not corporations being given the green light to rape the planet.

Not quite. Altough I like your idea and, well, it is very similar to mine, free trade is about trade, not humanism or ecology.
