Has anyone here seen Lars Von Trier's 'Anti Christ'? If you haven't please do. Its beautiful, frightening, sheer disturbing emotional and physical violence. I am seriously worried about Von Trier's mental health, yes still he's a bloody genius. So if you've seen this film what was your gut reaction?
I resent that! And it's not actually true. http://pb.rcpsych.org/cgi/reprint/8/1/10.pdf Einstein? Feynman?
Nah, those people are not geniuses. Seems like if someone is eccentric people wonder if there is more going on up there but i that doesn't impress me.
No. Not all. His insanity is in the work not in his life. The images he conjures makes on wonder about his mental stability. Have you seen the film?
what man in his RIGHT mind would fly a kite, with a key, in the middle of a lightning storm.... I duno about you, but I think that that, is just totally INSANE!! A person in their right mind wouldnt do that! LOL!
I think we throw this term around too much. A genius should be equally smart in all areas and not just one because that is a fluke of nature.
well there are some people with really bad disorders, who figure things out alot better then anyone whos IQ's are over whatever number.. and noone deems their work as relevant because oh, they have some disorder, they didnt go to college, they cant be right
Of course not. Is an immensely beautiful person a fluke? They are just lucky in one way. That is just the hand you are dealt.

No I have not seen the film as of yet but I would be interested to see how they portray me in the Film.
I love Willem Dafoe and I want to see it, but....there is some graphic violence. I'm gonna try and watch it, but I doubt it will come to a theatre near here. Where did you see it Lucy?
I wish I had seen it in a theater but I found it on dvd here in Phnom Penh. I was blown away by the first watch and then I watched it critically twice. There is a lot more to this film than the violent scenes it is known for. I have watched most of Von Trier's film and I must say this is one of his best. He has admitted to having been in a depression while conceiving and filming and it shows.
When you have seen it I'm curious as to what you think he has to say about Nature, the male female dichotomy, religious motifs and what you thought of the way it was filmed as opposed to the classic american horror flik. I absolutely loves the way he parodies the standard Hollywood formula of how a film should look and feel. He really punches a hold in rigid film aesthetics, twisting the dogma and revealing its perversity. Its what he had done in the musical Dancer in the Dark.
Didn't Einstein have a bunch of extra-marital affairs, and eventually marry his cousin ? Wasn't Feynman obsessed with some obscure little nation or principality located deep within the Eastern environs of the USSR, where they did some sort of weird "throat whistling" thing, spending a good number of years trying to secure Soviet permission to go there to play bongo drums with the natives ? Maybe that ain't exactly insanity, but somethin' odd was goin' on. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Would anyone in their right mind start an interstate chain of print shops ? LoL Sorry... ...inside joke between me, myself and I. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! As to the film - it seems a peculiar choice of title, considering that it apparently explores the depths of a personal rather than theological abyss. I suppose it makes sense to the guy who wrote it. I'll keep an eye peeled for it, though. There are a couple of theaters hereabouts which will feature off the wall material that doesn't get shown at the "Metro-Plexes". Plus, I'm usually up for anything cobbled together by someone who is supposed to be a lunatic.
