View Full Version : Another "Which Universe Would Win?" Thread!
Starthane Xyzth 01-23-05, 05:00 AM As suggested in the Star Trek vs. Star Wars (http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?p=754074#post754074) thread, here is a similar discussion for us uber-nerds to assess who would win an inter-universe sci-fi crossover war. :D
The combatants:
Babylon 5
BattleStar Galactica
Dr. Who
Transformers
Andromeda
My bet would be on the Babylon 5 team, since they have the Vorlons & Shadows with their planet-killers. Though there were probably some very powerful Dr. Who entities I've forgotten or never seen...
CounslerCoffee 01-23-05, 01:57 PM B5 as the winner? Don't know about that. I've been watching the new BSG and they have some seriously cool fighter jets that could take out a White Star with no problems.
Transformers I'm afraid. There's just to damned many of them and they can be anything...watch your back, they could be your walls!
CounslerCoffee 01-23-05, 04:22 PM At least we all agree that Andromeda would not win. That show sucks. Period.
///Hides Amazon receipt for Andromeda Season 1
Yeah, yeah, it would get it's taint handed to it especially seeing as everyone is too busy fighting each other.
OpteronGuy 01-23-05, 11:17 PM At least we all agree that Andromeda would not win. That show sucks. Period.
Never watched Andromeda either, but since you seem to not like it, I voted for it. :D :D :D Should be fun in class tomorrow, eh?
jennyRater 01-24-05, 06:05 AM Dr. Who I say, its got the Black Gaurdian and that time monster thing - living outside the universe. Plus Darleks and Cyber men and lots of other nasties. I havnt seen the new Battlestar yet, though. Sounds awsome.
I have decided to remain !!! (Not that I assume anyone cares...)
I voted for Babylon 5. Though only because I have no idea about any of the other ones. Could somebody please throw me a freakin' bone?
Starthane Xyzth 01-24-05, 11:48 AM BattleStar Galactica had some huge starships, almost comparable to Imperial Star Destroyers - but you never saw them wipe out a planet as such.
Dr. Who involved such a myriad of alien races, including the ocassional godlike powers, that perhaps it would indeed win (my vote remains with B5, however). Oh, and welcome to the forum, Jenny...
Transformers was a cartoon about 2 warring races of dimorphic robots; their universe included other powerful aliens (generally also mechanical in nature), the most dangerous of which was a planet-crushing machine named Unicron.
And I've hardly ever seen Andromeda.
CounslerCoffee 01-24-05, 12:50 PM Never watched Andromeda either, but since you seem to not like it, I voted for it. :D :D :D Should be fun in class tomorrow, eh?
I did not see this post until today.
Andromeda sucks! How dare you vote for it! B5 all the way! Oh, and I can edit your posts and change the poll to make you vote for what I want you to vote for. But that would be unethical.
I believe that the "Shadows phase outta hyperspace and then eat your planet" process to be a very profound argument in favor of Babyon 5
I also believe you'll find evidence of the Shadows' and Vorlons' overwhelming might in the following:
Weapons (http://www.b5tech.com/science/weapons/deathray/deathray.html)
Shields and Armor (http://www.b5tech.com/science/weapons/deathray/shields.htm)
Starthane Xyzth 01-25-05, 08:29 AM Great links, Kron! I am glad you decided to hang around.
jennyRater 01-25-05, 09:00 AM Oh, and welcome to the forum, Jenny...
Youre welcome :D
OpteronGuy 01-25-05, 02:14 PM I did not see this post until today.

Just out to give you a headache! Since I can't seem to do it enough in class. :D
I'm glad to be appreciated (and glad anyone cares). Thanks Starthane.
Anyway, that's only the Vorlons and the Shadows. There's also the Great Machine (Which can warp time). Last but not least, the deadliest of them all... THE SPOO, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! They will sigh and sit like cabbages and drive you STARK RAVING MAD !!!!! I enjoy having a good laugh sometimes...
jennyRater 01-26-05, 07:11 AM Spoo? Wasnt that Centari food - I mean, most Centari seemd soft + pampered to me. Their food wouldnt be so awful really. Not like what those squid-face aliens ate (the carrion feeders)
Those articles about the Shadow ship's weapons which you linked us, Kron, are v well done.. but arent they just a bit too nerdy?? I guess the author has extractd far more "info" from watching the battles on screen than the production crew ever came up with while filming it..
jennyRater, you have to assimilate the fact that I AM a nerd. As for the Spoo, they're so pathetic that they actually drive their farmer's barking mad.
jennyRater 01-28-05, 06:43 AM well, its great that you are unashamed of nerdness... too many people think its wrong, like a crime of some sort, and I dont see why unless you talk about your interst when no one wants to hear it.
Is Babylon 5 part of the Star Trek continuum?
haha stargate sg1...carter all the way!!!
jennyRater 01-29-05, 06:31 AM Is Babylon 5 part of the Star Trek continuum?
No, theyre great rivals (or were before B5 finished + Crusade was canceled). A lot of people think Deep space 9 improved after the first 2 years owin to competition for viewers from Babylon5..
My mum used to confuse them too - kept refering to "Deep space Babylon 9" :m:
Hmmm... I notice that even though most voted for the Transformers, no-one seems to be backing them up...
(Before anyone gets suspicious, I have run out of places to hide bodies.)
Clockwood 01-29-05, 01:32 PM In realism? The new Battlestar Galactica.
In coolness? Babylon 5.
In an all out fight? SG-1. There isn't much you can do against replicators.
Anthropomorphic robots will always win. They truly have heart.
Clockwood 01-29-05, 08:58 PM Yes. A still beating heart that they just ripped out of someone's chest.
Starthane Xyzth 01-30-05, 03:26 AM Yes. A still beating heart that they just ripped out of someone's chest.
Or a real human face, torn off a corpse... are you thinking of a movie called Saturn 3?
jennyRater 01-30-05, 05:28 AM remember it vagely I think... Kirk douglas + a kind of robot Hannibal Lecter.
Okay let's visualize the battle people!!! (Like we did in the other poll-thread)
Imagine Transformers and Babylon 5 warring. What weapons would they use? What advantages would they have?
Transformers are cool, Babylon 5 isn't?
jennyRater 01-31-05, 06:27 AM The Transformers would have lasers + big, stomping feet.. B5 ships would have lasers or missles.. Transformers universe had 1 planet-eater called Unicron, B5 universe has lots of planet-killers. On the large scale, the B5 universe has more guns.
How true... anyway, I've seen Transformers. They CANNOT resist the energy output of the B5 ships in the links I posted. Shadow Death-rays are total destruction.
Yeah, but how do we know that the transformers themselves aren't actually the size of planets and wouldn't just stomp the hell out of anything Babylon 5?
The Shadow Death Clouds can EAT planets.
jennyRater 02-01-05, 07:03 AM Or at least crack them up + fill the atmosphere with poison.
The "poison" is a swarm of bio-nanites that strip all organic matter off the surface of the planet. First it fires missiles into the planet's core so as to literally turn it inside out, eats all the organic matter, eats all the atmosphere, and then sucks the planet dry of any heat energy (until about 1 degree Kelvin).
When a Shadow Death Cloud grabs a planet, it's like popping a grape into your mouth then spitting out the seed.
let me put it this way;
Before: a planet like Earth
After: a planet like pluto
jennyRater 02-08-05, 12:29 PM sounds much nastier tha the Vorlon version.. that we never saw actualy fire at a planet.
the Timelords in Dr. who could destroy planets, or anyway move them about + wipe out their civilisatons. Didnt they do it to Earth, about a million yrs from now?
Heck, everyone's so powerful, even the ability do destroy planets is trivial......
Is this thread dead or something?
jennyRater 02-17-05, 07:14 AM Yes - weve all been targetd by planet killers.
I still think dr. Who would win.
FoolFromHell 05-06-07, 12:54 PM Nobody can even kill the Magog!
Andromeda would win hands down...
battlestar would win, they're lost on the other side of the galaxy, if they cant find out where they are, how would anyone find out where they are.
pgovenom 05-06-07, 06:51 PM well if it was on there i wold say starwars but it aint so ill just point out that andromiter and dr who are the same uinyverse:p
TW Scott 05-06-07, 10:31 PM Has to be Transformers. Remember that while the average Transformer is a 10 to 20 meter giant packing cannons that make a 120mm L5 Gun look tame the also have warships, composite Transformers, Transformer Cities (the whole city is a single mechanized entity) and Unicron. Trump card is the Creation matrix which allows the bearer to grant machines sentience. Admittedly the Vorlon would give Tranformer puase as they use Organic technology, however the Shadows would not as they use mechanics.
Sumoben 05-08-07, 09:52 PM Where is Stargate SG-1? Sure the Aurai would be a threat, or even the Ancients, and the Asgard...
Zakariya04 05-11-07, 02:39 PM Dear all
it ahs to be The Doctor.
He does mnot need big laser cannons or any of that shit.. just his brain the sonic screw driver, and the tardis
hell he would even be abvle to find a way of defeating the combined might of all the other universes without resorting to violence, well not excessive violence anyway.

darksidZz 05-11-07, 04:39 PM Dr Who, he travels in time so even if he lost he could just go back and fix it
Saquist 05-11-07, 04:56 PM B5 as the winner? Don't know about that. I've been watching the new BSG and they have some seriously cool fighter jets that could take out a White Star with no problems.
er...no...
I was tempted to go for Battle Star Galactica but this one above me is right..Dr. Who...BSG 2nd.
Dr Who, he travels in time so even if he lost he could just go back and fix it
Not true, he can't even go back and stop all of the other Time Lords being wiped out in the final Time Lord/ Dalek war...
Zakariya04 05-12-07, 05:16 AM Not true, he can't even go back and stop all of the other Time Lords being wiped out in the final Time Lord/ Dalek war...
dear Oli,
you are right here he is not allowed to break the rules of time so badly as to go back in his won time stream.
however the doctor does not need that shit, he will still be able to defeat the other universeres just through his inteleect
Think about it he can single handely deal with both the Cybers and the daleks, wikth out killing one of them.
During that Time war i imagine the arrogant timelords were probaly like a burden to him and a liability. If he had been left to do it on his own i am sure he would have defeated the daleks in that time war, as i think he probaly has the most experience of daleks in the entire DW universe.

pjdude1219 05-19-07, 12:58 AM dude the doctor could just go back in time and prevent any of the transformers from existing
Starthane Xyzth 05-19-07, 02:44 AM dude the doctor could just go back in time and prevent any of the transformers from existing
But would he? Wiping out a whole species was against the most fundamental Time Lord ethics, as stated in the Doctor's trial.
Plus, they could not wipe out the Daleks although they tried.
Enterprise-D 05-22-07, 04:34 PM The Daleks have time travel technology as well, probably why the Time Lords didn't consider wiping out the Daleks (outside of the ethics of the matter).
Out of favouritism I'd like Dr Who to come out on top a battle such as this, but for sheer brute firepower, only the Daleks have that in the Who universe.
The real battle would be between the Transformers and B5. Any sort of ground combat though would be unwise for the B5 folks :)
I'm betting on the doctor.
Starthane Xyzth 05-24-07, 04:33 AM The real battle would be between the Transformers and B5. Any sort of ground combat though would be unwise for the B5 folks :)
No need for that with the B5 universe planet-killers, or the Minbari Sharlin-class and Earth Alliance Warlock-class starships...
rhinorulz 05-29-07, 03:26 PM Star trek or andromada.
I am disapointed not to se Star Trek on here.

That's been done exhaustively on another thread.
