With President Bush we see the soul of the Republican Party revealed more clearly even than it was under Reagan. Take Bush's tax policy. Please. Stripped of the president's wholly factitious concern for the hard-working average Joe who plays by the rules, here it is: Tax every dollar that's actually been earned; tax no dollar that hasn't. The February 17 Newsweek carried columns by Allan Sloan and Jane Bryant Quinn which explain why there will be no peas for you under any of the shells in Bush's game. :m: Peace.
So, what you're saying is: if I give you a gift of money that already has been taxed, you should have to pay additional taxes on the same money? What about gifts that have resale value? If I give you a gamecube for xmas, should you have to pay taxes on it, too?
Two Class society The Bush, so called, savings plans and tax revisions are just another step on the stairway to this nations becoming a two class society. We currently have a good example of a two class society in Mexico. good post Goofyfish
Since the dawn of humanity, there always has been two-class society -- one class possessing the water hole and the other trying to figure out how to take it away.

I didn't have the pleasure of being fully aware of my self consciousness when Reagan was around, but my dad told me that the difference between Reagan and Bush was that Reagan actually looked like he believed what he was saying (trickle down economics) whereas Bush is just lying through his teeth.
Pollux When Bush senior ran against Regan in the 1980 primary elections, Bush refered to trickle down economics As, "Voodoo econonomics. It seems the Bush family has had a drastic change of mind somewhere along the way.
