*Jumps on the nihilism thread bandwagon*

It strikes me that nihilism seems to be the philosophy of damn cry babys. People who find themselves suddenly weaned off of a superior authority (like christians who have turned agnostic or athist) and now are just bawling thier little eyes out that there isnt some big daddy god to tell them whats worth doing.

So Nihilists, just lie down! Lie down on the ground and stop doing anything, no kidding do it. Because the universe is devoid of any meaning at all it wont matter if you do this for a minuet or for a week. Try to keep doing it though.

my point is that you arnt going to do it until you starve to death, or until you have to go to the bathroom. Why? because you ARE philosophical cry babys and you DO think things matter, even if your bravado wont let you admit it your flesh will force you to concede.

The real problem is that the nihilists who I have listened to expect meaning to come from some higher external source than their own pittiful selves (Oh how they like to talk about the tiny insignificance of the human being) when really they need to have themselves a good lie on the ground to remind them that our perceptions of meaning come from our bodys and our desires.

And also as a footnote, yes you exist, and i exist. Why? because you are reading this and i wrote it. The best you can do is change to an extreem degree just what kind of phenominon are behind this event, and perhaps what it may be a distant and warped distortion of, but its happening and baby that means something exists, so eat it!

Could you please present an argument rather than a string of random assertions?

SpyMoose...
Oh my were you abused as a child??? You poor impotent victim.
Nihilism has evolved since its birth.
Nihilism is the belief that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated.
There is always consequences... We make the decision.
"religion must be removed as a deontological barrier to self-serving consequences,"
Ironically, in place of the Omnipotent, the moderne nihilist glorifies the impotent victim.

Personally, I take comfort in finding it at least mathematically possible to show existance as not requiring some inexplicable God with riddles as an operator manual.

It means we as insignifigant beings may actually come to understand if not master creations itself.

Can you imagine if we should learn how to manufacture universes?

People who believe that thier life is worthless will not have the self-esteem necessary to be happy.

No further arguement, or insult is necessary.
