Obviously dropped on his head as a child.

    Clearly abnormal.

Have you nothing to add? I posted this link because little girls like you sit an whine about how all we hear about is negative things about Islam.

Clearly he wasn't the one who was dropped on his head.

I don't usually pay attention to evangelists of any kind.

Although I do share sams "dislike" for evangelists, i do believe that anyone preaching peace need to be heard and commended

Doesn't that sound a bit antipodal to your current political thinking? I mean, the guy is preaching peace, equality and tollerance in an area of the world that is not known for such things. I would think that he would be worth learning about.

    Just a thought.

Then you're blind, ignorant or lying. As usual.

Well, I guess since you ask that question, it bears answering. The part of the world where there are the only nations that deny women the right to vote, that execute gays, that commit honor killings.

Now, I'm sure you'll try to spin this on the west, but the fact is, it's a development issue and one that is particular in its severity in Muslim nations.

Now we're talking about womens rights or peace? Cos I've seen women there and many of them work. Yeah, their politics and religious fundamentalism sucks, but the west isn't all that great either. Many of them study in the US and return to their countries. Clearly, they value some things above being able to drive and wear a bikini. Sure they need changes, but they can leave a kid in the mall, sleep with the door unlocked and keep all their money at home without anyone breaking in.

As for gays, yeah that sucks, but there's always the option to move.

Honor killings? Probably matches domestic killings in any Western country.

Tolerance and equality? Its a different society and no one is occupying another country and bombing people for being different. Much more representative of peace, IMO. Even where the government is shitty, the people are fine. I had tea with cops joked with priests and met people from 10 different countries, all complaining about the boss while taking two months off a year, with free accomodation, travel, healthcare and food allowances. No complaints.

The point, SAM, is that he's preaching against those things in a land where those habits are set deep in people's consciousness. It's a noble thing to do. And NO, again SAM, I'm not absolving the west of its issues.

I swear you must have an IQ of 5. You just don't get it. I'm not saying that Muslim nations and their people are evil, and if there were a person traveling the west preaching against their issues (militarism, immorality, etcetera) you'd be championing their cause and plugging your two-cents in to the issue. But since it's happening in your own back yard, you (as usual) are avoiding the REALITY of the issue by acting like the issues aren't that big... which they are.

Again-- this isn't an issue with the west. And as usual, we are off topic because you've attempted to derail the whole thing.

Consider this one of my much too often delivered warnings: If you have nothing to contribute to the discussion at hand, without attempting to spin it back on the west or the USA, then your posts will be deleted. This game with you is very old. If you want to lie and twist things around, then go post somewhere else.
