I voted for the very first one, although I didn't watch any of the episodes except for the last one. I voted for whoever it was that won (Kelly Rowland, I believe). I based my vote purely on their final performances.

I honestly haven't watched it since then though. Nearly all of the performances are absolutely nauseating to watch (I'm not sure about their talent, but I just keep imagining myself being up there in their shoes). I end up walking around the house looking for other things to do.

Sorry if this post was useless, but I just figured I'd give you my input.

Some of my family and friends voted for Fantasia last year, I dunno if they voted this time around.

Oh I watch the auditions from time to time, I just meant that I can't stand to watch the "real" performers, perform.

They pick the most boring fucking songs to perform...and why does every female contestant believe she has to scream out every note during the finals!

I only watch the show through news clips and I only watch attentively during the auditions.

Agreed. The best part is, by far, the auditions. The rest is sickening to watch. Especially those ridiculous and shameless advertisements throughout. There's very little singing, way too many montages, and thoroughly obnoxious contestants.

Personally, I don't watch the show. It's to the point that I resent knowing what's going on because, frankly, it's no more headline news than Trump's Apprentice. I don't care what's going on with either, and I don't see why that rates above headlines involving war, international financing scandals, missing children, &c.

Nonetheless, I must admit that American Idol has surprised me. I had figured the title referred to creating a new American idol in the form of a pop star, but in reality the idol worshipped is the show itself.

Oh, well. Star Search was pretty pathetic, too, especially in its waning days.

I only watch the audition pary of American idol. There's nothing mre entertaining than watching naive and oblivious people have their dreams shattered.

The best ones are the "my family says I'm a great singer" people.

I think we're slowly drifting off-topic. My handsomeness does this all the time. It's a curse, really.

So: What season are we up to on AI? That's funny, the acronym for American Idol is the same as Artificial Intelligence. Maybe that's a joke directed at 90% of AI contestants (maybe even their viewers)?

We all seem to hate the show (well, except for Reighnstorm I assume), so is there any ideas (besides cancelling it altogether) that could possibly improve the show?

(^^ the second part was opinion) also the so called "american idol" isnt an idol.. they come out with one cd that is desperatly grasping a little over 100,000 copies of their horrible cd to be sold.. and they r not idols, they r two week's worth of entertainment
