I was going to go to bed, until i happened to read like 6 pages of why Americans are so bad at Geography, the further i read the more the American Bashing heightens. It just gets my blood boiling when these individuals continually bash America and our people. You see it on the news and through countless articles of people always complaining about how where so badddddddd. These always find the negative in something we do, where always the bad guy. When they let millions of their own citizens live below the poverty line, sleep on the streets and without healthcare it seems a little silly. Charity begins at home and all.

I don't think the US is that bad either, but it's not as great as some people make out. It just seems that the slightest bit of criticism, regardless of whether or not there is any truth in it, seems to get Americans' backs up and they'll tell you that you're wrong and the US is great. Everything the US has ever done is great and any criticism levelled at it could only be down to jealousy. It is arrogance.. that's all it can be.

No, the UK isn't great. It's got a fair few problems. Nowhere is great, but most people can take it and maybe agree with criticisms about their country. Is it blind patriotism or blind belief for the average US citizen who wants to defend their country on the net? I can't figure it out. I was born an American, I live in America with my family, and I will remain in America until I at least graduate from High School. Obviously the USA was extremely bloated when it comes to oil usuage and such, but the one I found most interesting was travel. Americans do not travel much compared to Europeans. France blew the US of the map. Even a small nation like the Netherlands was more than half the size of the USA.

Regardless of what you think, the idea of this particular thread was to discuss why the US is disliked. I'd agree that it's a little harsh to hate somebody for a certain characteristic or their origins, but that's life. At least you're not being herded into a gas chamber or dragged behind cars for being American. :) Discussion isn't bad, is it?
It's strange, though. The majority of people from the US posting in this thread can't possibly conceive of the notion that there are logical reasons for a lot of people disliking the US.
