Now remember, for all you quarrelsome Lord Of The Rings zealots, I didn't say the shlt was bad or good. Just want to know if there are any other out there who have yet to see any film in this trilogy.

Speak up, no one will judge you.

I have a friend who even though having purchased the first two films on DVD, for some obscure reason has never watched them
when i asked him why he just said he wants to watch them he just never gets round to it :bugeye:

Why haven't you seen them yet? They're really, really worth it.

Lord of what rings? What would such a Lord look like while filming?

The books suck. I decided, when reading them, to alleviate my boredom by browsing the manual to my stereo. I needed an action break.

I don't see what all the hoop-la and hype over these movies is all about. Personally, I feel as if the clout this trilogy has received is unjustified.

They're okay fantasy movies. Nothing more. I understand the hype because of how big the books are to some people - but what about to everyone else on the planet??? I mean I know people who are just as in to the hype of the films as those who obsessed over the books, who probably never once even saw the cover. The marketing folk for the trilogy just set it up so taht it was the most hyped thing in the world, and everyone fell for it. It's kind of funny.

They're decent movies. Some good visuals. Decent acting. Good cinematography. Nothing more.

you mean to tell me this is all the people who have yet to see this garbage?

here, I'll add some fuel to the fire...

LORD OF THE RINGS is an utter chore of a film, with no artistic value whatsoever!

Awww are you not getting all the attention you desire? There is nothing more annoying the flame seekers who get their jollies from arguing with people over forums. Obviously no one cares about you or your topic. I suggest you move on with your life and find a new hobby.

Mod hat On.

This thread belongs in SciFi. It, and all other LOTR threads are moved here. The A&C section is for movies that do not fit into the scifi category.

And don't start flaming.

Only thing I wanted was to know of others who had yet to see the garbage that is lord of the rings, not attention

Furthermore, I don't recall ever putting a gun to your head and forcing you to read this, if you don't like or took offense because you enjoyed lord of the rings (which would explain a lot) then don't post nor view the thread :bugeye: . AND IF I DID put a gun to you and force you to read this, I must have forgotten to shoot you afterwards. My mistake. :bugeye:

And what's this talk I hear about FLAMING, what is that, anyway? Some internet colloquialism, some internet lingo, is this tantamount to some LOL, or GTG or some other lame abreviation/acronym. That shlt is laaaaaaaaame, stop that! It might lead to you using it whilst congregating with your people, and public agony would ensue. Save yourself the trouble, lose the world wide web lexicon. Actually, keep it, it suits your whole persona.

Anyhow, oh high and mighty evil dragon whose too cool to be bothered with a thread he does not care for yet has the time and puts in the effort to express and censure the thread he claims not to care for popping shit in an effort to bring validity to his life (and lest we forget, his NET life too, wouldn't want everyone else to think you're not, 'tough', on the internet, right), I will heed your advice and not argue with people over forums -- oh wait no, I never once argued with people in this forum, so your argument has no merit. :bugeye:

But here you are, arguing with me over my thread and it's pertinence, and telling me that I'm an "annoyign flame seeker" (which I still don't know what it means). Makes you a hypocrite, and a boorish one at that.

In conclusion, you must seek validation for living via the internet and attempting to belittle others to make up for your personal insecurities.

You're absolutely right, I said earlier it had no artistic value whatsoever, so it has merit to be in the SCI-FI forum.

weeeell, it is actually fantasy not sci-fi
this comes after reading a tedious but delightful essay on "fairystories" by professor tolkien. you have no idea how specific he considers this genre.
