Ozymandias 03-10-04, 07:52 PM ...overlord, you mean? :D apendrapew 03-10-04, 09:33 PM I don't know if anyone has expertise on this.. but I've got a broken minidisc player. It's made out of magnesium. If I threw it in a bon fire, do you think it would be hot enough for it to combust? Soda cans man. That's the most obvious one.. and Ozymandias 03-10-04, 09:57 PM there's already a thread (http://www.sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=33790) like this in the Science forum. Nadir 2 Zenith; learn to cope with one or the other. You don't need both ... :( alain 03-11-04, 03:30 AM "in the DDR ,some eating utensils like forks and spoons were made of alu ..... so it was very funny sometimes" lol, you should be a diplomat with the Alu thing ive never heard of an aluminium canoe, i would assume it would sink, but you may be right you threw an Md player in a fire, id of sold it to some dumbass who didnt realise it didnt work guthrie 03-11-04, 02:49 PM How much magnesium is in an Md player? I think youll find its more magnesium aluminium alloy, which is nice and light and strong. Look for funky Al/ Mg alloys in modern aircraft as well. I think you migh tbe able to get it to ignite if your fire has an air blast, like from a big set of bellows, but probably not if its just an ordinary wood fire. certified psycho 03-11-04, 03:23 PM Again, why is the same thread in GS&T. fireguy_31 03-11-04, 04:17 PM apendrapew Ummm, my suggestion is you DON'T burn your Mg minidisc player, the fumes are EXTREMELY toxic and will inflict permanent damage on your lungs! And, BTW, a bonfire 'can' produce a flashpoint high enough to ignite Mg. apendrapew 03-11-04, 08:22 PM Thank you, Fireguy. You seem credible enough. Maybe I should sell it to some idiot. On a side note: Would anyone like to buy a minidisc player. It's a Sony E-90. Almost new condition. ;) lixluke 03-11-04, 09:47 PM Introducing the disposable aluminium breasts. Pantented by none other than cool skill. Durable, mallable, light weight, shiny. What more can you ask for? Withstands extreme temperatures. Most of all, it's Super Bowl friendly. Even Britney uses them. (http://www.webforwards.com/britneysboobs.htm) guthrie 03-12-04, 01:24 PM Hey, fireguy, let silly people do what they want. they might win a darwin award. |
