I have not "altered" my basic beliefs in most everything BUT I have learned allot that I thought differently about. my knowledge either came from bad sources or out of date places that I visised. I have learned many things about many subjects that I once only knew little about.

I've been a member a couple of years and have read thousands of posts. I have learned many things, have improved my understanding of many things, and have gained new perspectives on things.

I've changed my mind about atheists and secularism. I had quite a rosy view of both before.

You had a pre-emptive bias against me?

FYI, my rosy picture of atheists and secularism was very close to you

Unfortunately it seems you are the exception and not the rule.

World view changed re: Cricket (the game), India, video as an educational medium, Islam, currency exchange and international banking, the relationship of character and rhetoric.

    Examples off hand.

Do you think it's smart to change your general view on atheists and secularism based on a few individuals on an internet forum?

Isn't an athiest dominated science forum one of the few places where one could see the dynamics of the belief system? In my four years here, I've seen only two atheists make an effort to be civil to theist posters. One was spurious, in the course of an experiment on sandy and the second is clueluss. Out of the whole bunch thats a pretty sorry statistic, considering the one was banned and the other is treated like an idiot.

    No. Try everyday life.

So I'm not civil towards theist posters? Ok..

I voted three times, but it was a guess. Maybe it was more that that.

Everyday life? You mean where atheists apparently conceal their true feelings because if anyone knew their true thoughts about theists it may impact their material advantages? That real life? lol

You're neither civil nor uncivil. I've not seen you be especially rude to anyone because you're atheist, but I've never seen you stick up for friends when your fellow atheists generalise against them either.

    That's besides the point.
Anyway, I don't have any friends here. To call someone a friend you should at least know them..
