err US joining Germany? in WWII? umm desi, you must supply more alt-history information about what made the two join exactly. I mean how does a Nazi regime get accepted and joined together with the anti-racist Democrats?

They joined because a nationalist party comes to power in the US which identifies more with Germany than it does with Germany's enemies...

There was potential for this in WW1, when the US stayed neutral until very late. WW2, some NAZI groups were formed in the US, but were largely ignored due to the democratic process. You have to go back quite a ways to join the US and Nazi Germany. Somehow the democratic process has to die. I think something came close during manifest destiny, when the prez sent troops to move the native americans to reservations in spite of legal treaties. Look into it and hit back.

Interesting point, if you want to post in the ww2 thread, there was a possibility of a German-Soviet alliance, stopped only by Hitler's napoleonic urges prior to the annexation of poland. THAT would have made things interesting for the allies, to say the least. UK and France may have declined to declare war in that case, without some guarantee from the US.

For a certain period of time German farmers were controlling the bread basket of the US. Some historians have said if more Germans had been named Fritz instead of Fred, WWII might have turned out different. Stop hemming and hawing. Stick to the topic and give your opinion.

Those men weren't Germans, they were Americans of German ancestory. Big damned difference, huh?
