I know my own experiences, however brief, with the NHS in England were not pleasant. That's all I can really speak to. That and the trend in places like England towards privatization.

It's better than nothing. At least we have the CHOICE of going private for the important health issues and leaving everything else to the NHS, rather than a choice of pay or die.

The government here has done everything possible to mess up the NHS over the last few decades including wasting money on beaurocracy rather than doctors and nurses, giving methadone to heroin addicts at £90 a day (that's about 5 million billion yankmerican dollars last time I checked) and lettings hospitals fall apart while giving themselves pay rises, etc. etc but even in the state it's in it's better than nothing.
