Hey, I was surfing around on Google image search and found an incredible gem:
Alexandrite: Appears blue green in sunlight and purple under incandescent light!
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/01/Alexandrite_26.75cts.jpg/800px-Alexandrite_26.75cts.jpg
How does this happen? I'm sure it has something to do with the way it was formed and what elements make it up, anyone know any details on that?
