I don't know if anyone has made mention of this artist on these forums yet, but probably many of you have heard of her. She is obviously considered a "child prodigy" because of her amazing talent in painting and poetry. I like her a great deal because she and I share the same sense of spirituality. Her website is: www.artakiane.com Here is one of my favorite image/poetry combos of hers, called Quantum World: Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Quantum World: We cannot complain to the possibility. Chromosomes and quarks stare at me while I am not looking at them. To have a future we have to live and leave the present. Just as you commit to this life when it commits to leaving you. No supernatural can exist for the mankind that does not want to believe it. Wisdom chooses the unknown to be its reason. Hallucination is a raw climb to a dead end. An illusion can never go faster than the speed limit of reality. We chase gravity of the micro world, but after leaving its world we try to perfect the laws here that do not exist there. We hear inconceivable, but cannot see the intangible. Secret to time is beyond our reason. Many imitate limits, not unlimited potentials. I broke down all conclusions into illusions and confusions. How much does the universe weigh, when it fasts for infinity? The results came in, but I still do not know if I am in the real or fiction world. Behind each door we shake is a reality. A fermented mind – according to nothing, we are something. I always knew I was a dust. But I never knew I was also a universe. Miracle is a misunderstood reality. Everyone has a watched life. Everyone is both the observer and the observed. Past is deaf. Future is mute. Present is blind. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Akiane Kramarik was born in Mount Morris, Illinois to a Lithuanian mother and an American father. According to her website, she is homeschooled. Primarily a self-taught painter, Akiane Kramarik started drawing at age four, painting at six, and writing poetry at seven.[1] Her first completed self-portrait sold for ten thousand US dollars.[2] According to Kramarik, her art is inspired by her visions of heaven, and her personal connection with the Christian God. Kramarik's art depicts wildlife, landscape, and people WIKI
Maybe in its reduced size. The work I see at the site reminds me of what I call "calendar art", the fantasy-based paintings used for witchcraft calendars and such. Her paintings of Jesus are a bit disturbing for their ethnic adaptations, but more often than not, I find Jesus paintings disturbing for some reason. One thing this does come to mind is to ask of folks in Oregon if anyone's been to Newport lately, such that they might be able to tell me whether the family of Krylon artists is still working down by the docks?
Yes, definitely in reduced size - that's actually only a portion of the picture also. I didn't really like the jesus-focused part of her artwork either, but through reading her poetry and finding out enough about her, I feel I know exactly where she's coming from. I have had spiritual experiences myself and understand her, but I don't believe in a god in that sense. I feel as though she is just attributing her spiritual experiences she's had (her first one at 4) to a god, but i've looked past that part of it personally and just focused on the message. As for newport...haven't been there in ages Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
That's horrible poetry. Presumably she's young yet, though. The pictures don't look much better at this scale. Book illustrations, in the Sci Fi Fantasy coffee table high gloss section.
