What do you guys (and gals, sorry) think airline meals taste like? Just wondering as it is interesting to know other peoples opinions on small and stupid things

Depends on the airline and the local catering.

For the most part airline meals suck.

Although I flew First Air once and on the menu was, are you ready for this: Roast Caribou, Baby Potatos in Wine Sauce and Fiddle Heads, a complimentary glass of red wine and for desert, an Irish Cream coffee complete with whipped cream and a cherry on top.

I always travel first class and all the meals I've had were good, not great but good.

Do you work for the airlines?

I have been on three long plane round-trips (Toronto-Vancouver (2), Toronto-Calgary) to visit family and go on a ski trip. I have been on tons of shorter flights to get to the smaller cities from the main ones. The food was pretty good. Everyone around me on the plane complained about portion size. In one flight, thre wasn't enough food for everyone due to a miscalculation.

I have talked to people that do a lot of flying for all kinds of vacations and family things. They say it depends 100% on what airline you choose. On some airlines, you con't even identify what you are eating. On others like air Canada, the food is stuff like Chicken and rice with vegetables.

Damn, I want to fly First Air now :)

Tea is always crap and tastes like coffee, despite that they use different pots for tea and coffee.

Or maybe they alternate between flights.

Flight no1. tea in teapot. coffee in coffepot
Flight no2. tea in coffeepot, coffee in teapot
flight no3. everything tastes like coffee.

always always bad. except for jetblue because they encourage you to bring your own. so then it depends on how good a meal you made for yourself. they don't serve meals but you get a choice of maybe a dozen different snacks (terra blue chips-yum).
