Adrenocortical Layers

    I posted this on another forum, but they don't like me there.

    Why do the zones have to differentiate?

    I assumed they don't produce hormones properly unless differentiated. But I heard somewhere that they are actually undifferentiated at birth.

    well from my opinion it is the way cells grow, that these zones are differentiated that way, perhaps one layer grows on another.

    Also the zones clearly play a role in adrenal steroid pathways

    if there was a undifferentiated zones there would be hyperaldosteronism
