Was he looking for ancient treasure or ancient knowledge???
Unconfirmed reports say he sent an expedition out to India before or after he rose to power!!!
The sole purpose was to gather ancient Indian sancript writings detailing the building of machines of war!!
The Germans did have a technological advantage over the Allies in many areas!!,..after all thats why the Russians and Americans were quick to recruit as many of their scientists after the war.

Yes, technological advantages in many normal areas, with logical improvements on given formulae. Not walking death machines.

The latter - but he was raving loony when it came to mythology.

That's called covering your options. Maybe it could been have DURING. Actually it was after. And the reports are only claimed as unconfirmed by those that really want it to be mysterious - http://ahnenerbe.mindbit.com/. He sent expeditions all over - Bullet Proof Monk and Indiana Jones (although fictional) do give some indication of the extents he went to in his idiocy.

Not quite, since those "writings" weren't exactly well known at the time (no internet you see, so there was a shortage of woo-woos). He was looking for religious artifacts with legends attached...

And the Allies had a technological advantage over the Germans in many areas. The German scientists were recruited to fill the gaps.
BTW you seem to have sticky keys - check out the exclamation and question mark keys on your board.

The allies' advantage was not technological to any degree. We got the big bomb first and that is the extent of it. Even that was due to German refugee help i.e. Einstein. Our advantages had to do almost completely with our superior production capabilities, numbers, and geographic isolation. All we had to do to win was not lose long enough. In addition, when we won and occupied them they were decades ahead of us, with Jet technology, Rocketry, much more developed nuclear program (no working bomb, but much more research), and dozens of extremely revolutionary developments.

This is all true. No one will dispute, that had WW2 never happened, Germany would likely be superpower right now.

Einstein was a jew, he was German, but ultimately he was a jew.

Einstein did not work on the A-bomb program. He did write a letter to President Roosevelt encouraging the U.S. to engage on such a venture. It was well known that Germany also was working in that direction. Einstein was "out of the loop". His scientific insight (mass-energy mathematical equivalence of E=mc^2) was used, however.

The refugee scientist most credited with the US A-bomb work was Enrico Fermi (from Italy), who at Chicago was the lead scientist that developed the first controlled nuclear chain reaction on Wednesday, December 2, 1942 at 3:25 PM. Precisely at that time Chicago scientist George Weil withdrew the cadmium-plated control rod and by his action unleashed and controlled the energy of the atom. The release of neutrons proceeded exponentially for 28 minutes, whereupon it was stopped abruptly with the control rod ("Zip") being re-inserted. Fermi used a slip-stick (slid-rule) for all of his calculations. The nuclear reactor he made consisted of chunks of Uranium interspersed in a pile of relatively pure graphite, used as the moderator. It's support structure was made from oak timbers. For several years thereafter, a nuclear reactor was referred to as a "pile", but gradually the term was replaced by the term "reactor".

This information was obtained from The First Nuclear Reactor, US A.E.C., Division of Technical Information, prepared by authors Corbin Allardice and Edward R. Trapnell in November, 1949.

I'm sure plenty of people will dispute it, since one of the causes of WW2 was Germany being in a severe depression, and what got them out was war.

The quest for mystical ruralism was seen in Hitler’s correspon-dence with the Dalai Lama and in Himmler’s visit to Tibet, presaging the Schaefer Nazi expedition there in the late 1930s. The annual Nazi scientific expeditions to the wes-tern Himalaya from 1933 to 1939 exemplify this fusion of the aesthetic and the scientific.

These Nazi expeditions were sent to the Himalaya, ostensibly for mountain climbing but often inclu-ding in their scientific objectives the enumeration and gathering of wild and domestic plants grown by local people who were to be certified as Aryan. Physiognomic measure-ments of skulls and noses of the local resi-dents would certify that the Himalayan plant species that were to be planted in the colder, drier parts of the new lebensraum, in conquered Poland and the Soviet Union—once the local population was displaced—were indeed grown and eaten by authenticated Aryans in their native habitat.

December 1938. A German research ship sailing under the Swastika flag glides through the Antarctic ocean in search of stone and ice samples. Geologists are looking for evidence to support the bold `global ice theory`, according to which a comet was supposed to have crashed to Earth in prehistoric times and scattered the `original Aryans` all over the world.

In the Himalayas, the `Roof of the World`, a Tibet expedition in 1938 was intended to produce new findings relating to early Germanic history. The Nazis believed in a Nordic master race that was supposed to have survived the demise of the legendary Atlantis. In Tibet - so the theory goes - these people of Nordic origin are supposed to have constructed the underground realm of `Shambalah - source of happiness`, traces of which the expedition hoped to find.

The true facts behinds the Nazi expeditions have never been fully explained. Who financed them? Who planned them and why?

Could Hitler's numerous Nazi "expeditions" throughout all parts of the globe in search for caverns/mines/tunnels leading to an underground world have actually succeeded in bringing Nazi agents into contact with an insidious reptilian race which inhabits the bowels of the earth, one which began to "assimilate" their new-found human hosts for what ever draconian purpose they might have been engaged in?

Or are the "reptilians" seen during many UFO encounters merely the product of Nazi biogenetic experimentation, possibly involving the genetic splicing of human and reptilian DNA in order to produce a 'race' that could survive and adapt to the evident dangers and harsh conditions of interplanetary exploration and colonization!?

It was really a bit of a wild goose chase since the very term "aryan" was a purposeful corruption of the term by max mueller - the aryans referred to in vedic literature is something more like the english word "gentleman" - attributing it to a mysterious geographical designation was a eurocentric construction to avoid the fact their language and culture is derived from what appears to be India

I would like to do a Sr. thesis on Hitler's mystical ruralism, do you belive there is enough evidence and reputable information to create a well-rounded piece? Where can I find this information? I am an international studies major, with my topical focus being international political science...while creating a subjective thesis will be difficult- i find this subject fascinating. Help!

I think Hitler was looking for every advantage he could find. From jet rockets to the rail gun he put a lot of time and effort into novel weapons. Like people posted earlier in the end it came down to mass production of weapons. The Germans would make a work of art weapon requiring many parts and it worked like a swiss watch, while the Americans would make the same weapon with less parts and it would work like a hammer. Add to that the virtually limitless number of Soviet bodies to carry these American weapons and you have 400,000 dead Soviets from the sacking of Berlin.

Shit dude, pretty "far out" even for me. You are right about one thing though...it was Himmler as the driving force behind the search for Occult Knowledge.

They searched for so many crazy things, the holy grail, the Spear of destiny, the Ark, Atlantis, Thule, the Vimama, and oddly enough knowledge of the power of 1000 suns...that last one creeps me out considering the conclusion of WWII.

They did combine the absolute adventurous search of knowledge, the grasping at straws, what Nietzsche called the "Gay Science"(Happy science) with the cold discipline of German science and technology. To conclude that all these expeditions yielded absolutely no value is as ignorant as concluding Hitler and company are living happily ever after in Thule or the Underworld. They drove "real" archaeology to new heights.
