View Full Version : Actors and Actresses you Can't Stand
shorty_37 08-31-07, 09:22 PM What Actors or Actresses do you find really suck at acting, like when you find out they
are in a movie you go damn.
For me I can't stand Pierce Brosnon and Keanu Reeves off the top of my head for men and
Pamela Anderson for women.
mikenostic 08-31-07, 09:37 PM Before I answer, how do you mean the question; do you mean can't stand them as a person, or can't stand them as actors/their acting?
shorty_37 08-31-07, 09:39 PM Good point I will fix that.......I mean their acting....
superstring01 08-31-07, 11:25 PM I can't stand Eddie Murphy or Susan Sarandon.
~String
countezero 09-01-07, 12:59 AM Eddie Murphy? He was great in the 80s. I still laugh at Beverly Hills Cop...
I can't stand Ben Affleck. What a loser. Another is Natalie Portman. She can't act and she consistently gets rave reviews.
superstring01 09-01-07, 01:01 AM She can't act and she consistently gets rave reviews.
Whaaaaaat? She's awesome! What makes you say 'dat!?
Another is Natalie Portman. She can't act and she consistently gets rave reviews.
You didn't like V for Vendetta?
Keanu Reeves I can't stand. Ben Affleck I appreciate when he's working with Kevin Smith. Tom Cruise repulses me, and is about the only new name I can add to the list. By and large, though, I'm so disconnected from the common marquee hits of Hollywood that I couldn't tell you who's in it. I happened to see part of Garden State last weekend while drinking at the Cyclops, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. That was, I've been told, a good film. Horsepucky! The best thing in it was the hot, wet teenager, and they spoiled that scene with a golf cart.
Couldn't tell you who's in it, though. And that's the thing. I don't care. To draw a parallel, if I still pick on Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Puddle of Mudd, and Papa Roach, it's because I don't know who the hell is in the Top 40 these days, and most likely don't want to know.
But I will say that it's getting to the point that Ben Stiller and Carmen Diaz ought to be prohibited by law from ever again appearing in the same film.
(Say what you want about Susan Sarandon, but two performances earn her a lifetime pass: Bull Durham and Rocky Horror Picture Show. Thankfully, she generally makes different films than the kind I'm likely to see.)
Oh, hell ... Barrymore. Drew Barrymore. I almost enjoyed a chick flick once, but Drew Barrymore absolutely wrecked it. Boys on the Side was the last time I ever sat through a chick flick.
Paris Hilton CANNOT act. Have you seen House of wax? Ugh... Hilary Duff seems nice but her acting ticks me off, it just seems like she's forced to do it sometimes, which I don't like.
A good actor is, what's his face...the guy in meet the parent's and meet the fockers, he plays gaylord's dad , (actual name before skinwalker sends me a message saying i've 'insulted')
....yeah...
Idle Mind 09-01-07, 04:37 AM A good actor is, what's his face...the guy in meet the parent's and meet the fockers, he plays gaylord's dad , (actual name before skinwalker sends me a message saying i've 'insulted')
....yeah...
Dustin Hoffman.
lucifers angel 09-01-07, 04:54 AM Drew Barrymore! i cant stand her, she has less telant than a chocolate fire gaurd!
Steven Seagal and Cameron Diaz!
lucifers angel 09-01-07, 05:22 AM Paris Hilton CANNOT act. Have you seen House of wax? Ugh... Hilary Duff seems nice but her acting ticks me off, it just seems like she's forced to do it sometimes, which I don't like.

OMG House Of Wax is soooooooo bad!! it was a waste of film!!
Dustin Hoffman.
Thanks for that. Dustin Hoffman. Good bloke.
cosmictraveler 09-01-07, 08:14 AM I try best to forget the bad ones and concentrate only on the good ones. There's so many bad actors and only a few great ones. It would be easier, for me at least , to list the great not the damned.
OMG House Of Wax is soooooooo bad!! it was a waste of film!!
Yes! I know...I need to hunt down the person who chose Paris Hilton for the part...
Okay, nothing against her (actually there is), it's not her fault she's famous because of her money but what annoys me is she takes advantage of her meaningless fame...just because you have the money, doesn't mean you can buy acting skills and singing skills, oh, and writing skills.........money=gucci not money='because I have it, all of a sudden I can sing, act and write SO well...'
Orleander 09-01-07, 08:19 AM steven segal and tara reid.:puke:

Which actors/actresses do you find to be good?
Who saw House of Wax??? And why?
Did you not know it would suck major balls? And if you didn't - how are you so stupid? And if you did know, and saw it anyway, why are you so masochistic?
Zakariya04 09-01-07, 08:25 AM hEY ALL
I CANT STAND THanks and Tooze

Cheers
zak
Orleander 09-01-07, 08:28 AM another thread reminded me of Zoey Dashenal. She always has 1 expresion, 1 tone of voice...hmmm, kinda like Keanu Reeves.
cosmictraveler 09-01-07, 08:34 AM Which actors/actresses do you find to be good?
Jack Nicholson, Sirgorny Weaver , Clint Eastwood , Paul Newman, Steve McQueen, George C. Scott, Meryl Streep, Julie Christie, Rod Steiger, Alec Guinness to name but a few.

There's no denying that she's an excellent actor. I just can't stand her.
Drew Barrymore.
Also an annoying woman.
steven segal and tara reid.:puke:
Agreed.

Lord Hillyer 09-01-07, 11:08 AM Raptor Jesus and John Edwards. But I repeat myself.
s0meguy 09-01-07, 11:43 AM What Actors or Actresses do you find really suck at acting, like when you find out they
are in a movie you go damn.
For me I can't stand Pierce Brosnon and Keanu Reeves off the top of my head for men and
Pamela Anderson for women.
I like Pierce Brosnan as an actor... I wonder why you don't like him?
Anyways, I don't know any actors out of the top of my head that fit this description, maybe JLO
Deathfromabove 09-01-07, 01:17 PM Cameron Diaz - has anyone seen 'The holiday' , watching that crap was soo painful!
Jude Law
Will Smith - Has anyone else noticed he has never died in any of film roles
And any musician/rappper turned actor/actress except from Barbra Streisand
nietzschefan 09-01-07, 02:57 PM Bruce Willis....just to cool to even watch.
shorty_37 09-01-07, 04:40 PM Jack Nicholson?
Have you not seen One Flew Over?
Or are you just not on the bus?
I love Jack.....It's medication time....
I also like:
Robert De niro
Al Pacino
Jim Carey (mostly only in dumb and dumber)
I Love Ray Liotta's crazy laugh and Joe Peci ( the whole Goodfellows gang)
Johnny Depp, he can play anything I think he is great
Daniel Day Lewis ( Last of the Mohicans)
Sean Penn
Anthony Hopkins
Jack Black ( his expressions alone make me laugh)
And don't come down on me too hard......but Sylvestor Stallone I love Rocky lol
shorty_37 09-01-07, 04:41 PM Bruce Willis....just to cool to even watch.
You forgot your favourite....... Richard Gere lol
shorty_37 09-01-07, 04:42 PM I like Pierce Brosnan as an actor... I wonder why you don't like him?
I don't know he has that I am so great snoutiness about him I don't like.
cosmictraveler 09-01-07, 04:51 PM A few more favorites
Takeshi Kaneshiro, Billy Bob Thornton, Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, Orson Welles, Nicholas Cage , Clark Gable , Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino

For some reason I am not a fan of Nicholas Cage don't care for him at all.
lucifers angel 09-01-07, 04:57 PM For some reason I am not a fan of Nicholas Cage don't care for him at all.
he was brilliant in the weather man!
I don't think jack nicholson is that good of an actor. In every film, he just plays himself. I don't see much change in character.
shorty_37 09-01-07, 05:02 PM Oh come on Jack is great and you gotta like his grin!
cosmictraveler 09-01-07, 05:03 PM I don't think jack nicholson is that good of an actor. In every film, he just plays himself. I don't see much change in character.
I beg to differ with you. Tell me, which movies have you seen, just mention a few and I'll discuss the differences in them with you.
nietzschefan 09-01-07, 05:10 PM I don't think jack nicholson is that good of an actor. In every film, he just plays himself. I don't see much change in character.
Maybe it's the shitty chinese actor translating for ya.
Maybe it's the shitty chinese actor translating for ya.
The fact is he's still not a real versatile actor. It's the western perception because they like him.
cosmictraveler 09-01-07, 08:46 PM The fact is he's still not a real versatile actor. It's the western perception because they like him.
Did you ever see As Good As It Gets?
Did you ever see As Good As It Gets?
Let's see, there is a thread on imdb which states "Plays himself all the time."
"Is this really acting when he plays a character with similar mannerisms in most of his movies?"
"He is extremely overrated !"
And I didn't start the thread or ever replied in it so evidently I'm not the only one of that opinion or observation.
I just don't find his acting all that appealing.
Pandaemoni 09-01-07, 09:17 PM I hate Jessica Alba. She gets millions to be in films and she's a high school level acting talent. She's eye-candy, but surely there's some pretty woman out there who can act too.
Keanu Reeves is pretty bad, though I still lilke Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and The Matrix...and Much Ado About Nothing was so "so-bad-its-funny" that I can't bring myself to hate him. I am starting to hate Orlando Bloom. He's another high school level talent.
cosmictraveler 09-01-07, 09:36 PM I just don't find his acting all that appealing.
Well that is your opinion but he has won many awards and most of his movies make tons of money so there are quite a few people out there who seem to think just the opposite as you. I never found him to play "himself" as you say for every movie I've seen him in he plays a different personality.
Who saw House of Wax??? And why?
Did you not know it would suck major balls? And if you didn't - how are you so stupid? And if you did know, and saw it anyway, why are you so masochistic?
Well a) I like horror films b) I am not stupid c) I can't foretell the future and know if I liked the movie or not.
You watch and you learn, so there's no need to be so dry.
Cameron Diaz - has anyone seen 'The holiday' , watching that crap was soo painful!
Jude Law
Will Smith - Has anyone else noticed he has never died in any of film roles

I think Will Smith was an actor before a rapper...besides, even if he was, that's not a great reason not to love him. He is an awesome actor...
shorty_37 09-01-07, 11:22 PM I hate Jessica Alba.
I agree she sucks.......I don't care for Sandra Bullock either
spuriousmonkey 09-02-07, 02:22 AM G W Bush and Dustin Hoffman.
lucifers angel 09-02-07, 03:45 AM Al Pacino is an actor i cant stand, marlon brando is anouther, Freddie prinze jr

TNA dude TNA
pjdude1219 09-02-07, 04:20 AM keunu reeves i mean his acting abilty begins and ends with saying woah the only reason he has looked good is he has been paired with some amazing actors and actresses that made him look good but he is terrible i mean adam sandler is a far bett actor than keanu reeves
God you people have some shitty opinions.
1. Will Smith was a rapper first.
2. Jack Nicholson has fantastic diversity in his acting, you just have to have watched movies from over his career. One Flew, Chinatown (one of the great films), As Good, etc. Each of these roles is extremely different from the other, and that's only three I chose almost at random. You really must be surprisingly blind or unable to pay attention if you don't notive the massive differences between the three characters in those movies, it's not even like it's subtle.
3. What do you mean it was impossible to know if House of Wax would suck? Right off the bat you have the fact that it stars fuckin' Paris Hilton. That's like "Godfather IV - Starring Nicole Richie". Hmmmmm, I wonder if it'll suck goat's balls.
4. Marlon Brando is one of the greatest American actors ever. If he had only made A Streetcar Named Desire, he would still be one of the greatest actors ever.
5. Nicholas Cage is an awful actor who makes some of the worst pieces of trash of the last ten years.

You too.
tablariddim 09-02-07, 06:31 AM Those are still your opinions.
Very well observed:bugeye:
Old farts like old actors best.
EmptyForceOfChi 09-02-07, 07:51 AM I hate Jessica Alba. She gets millions to be in films and she's a high school level acting talent. She's eye-candy, but surely there's some pretty woman out there who can act too.

i thought orlando bloom made an excellent elf in lord of the rings,
peace.
EmptyForceOfChi 09-02-07, 07:53 AM leslie nielsen is great. my favorite actor is tony jaa, nobody can do stunts like him. in most cases you can say "that actor plays a good role" but tony jaa doesent just play a good acting role. he lives the movie and doesent just act, he is real.
ong bak and ong bak 2 are fucking brilliant.
http://kungfu-asia.com/myPictures/TONY_JAA5.bmp.jpg
peace.
There hasn't been a truly brilliant martial arts film since Bruce Lee. Though I will give a nod to both Ong Bak and many Jet Li films. They keep the spirit alive. But no one did fight films like Bruce did, he was simply the king.
iceaura 09-02-07, 12:58 PM There's no denying that she's an excellent actor. I just can't stand her. This makes a discussion that is not dispute over taste: actors that one recognizes to be good, but nevertheless can't stand; G&H
and the flip category: actors one knows to be insufferable or totally unskilled, but likes anyway; B&L
and the middle category: actors one hates and knows to be bad, but that have something about them one recognises as legitimately attractive to others, so that liking them is forgiveable; HB&OK.
and the best category: actors that one likes and knows to be good, but that have something about them recognizably insufferable to others - so that hating them is easily forgiven. LG&OH
I don't watch enough movies to fill out such a chart.
For the Keanu Reeves haters:
LOS ANGELES -- Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is to star in a remake of the classic 1950s science fiction film "The Day The Earth Stood Still," it was reported on Monday.

Tony Jaa has an acrobatic and martial arts talent that is well beyond normal comprehension.
The scene in 'The Protector' where he storms the restaurant from the first floor all the way up to the 3rd or 4th floor...wow. That was a fully progressive scene with no cuts.
tablariddim,
You can add me to that list too. :D
Cage is a mediocre actor at best. He was decent in only 3 movies out of his that I've seen. Raising Arizona, Kiss of Death, and Gone in 60 Seconds.
shorty_37 09-02-07, 03:24 PM You're on my ignore list, as of now.
lol awwwwwwwwwww :(
shorty_37 09-02-07, 03:26 PM For the Keanu Reeves haters:
LOS ANGELES -- Hollywood star Keanu Reeves is to star in a remake of the classic 1950s science fiction film "The Day The Earth Stood Still," it was reported on Monday.
I won't be seeing that then.
Dustin Hoffman.
Whaaat??!! Dustin Hoffman is a great actor. Sure he has been in some looser films but he has been exceptional in many others.
There hasn't been a truly brilliant martial arts film since Bruce Lee. Though I will give a nod to both Ong Bak and many Jet Li films. They keep the spirit alive. But no one did fight films like Bruce did, he was simply the king.
Yep, the rest are just wannabees. Though I do have a soft spot for Jackie Chan.;)
Orleander 09-02-07, 08:35 PM As Gort?
LMAO!! :D
Chan's a very entertaining fighter to watch, but his movies aren't quite "kung-fu flicks" because so often they're comedies.
USS Exeter 09-03-07, 06:51 PM Who's that guy from the Rush hour movies that is always partners with chan? When
I find out, I hate him. His voice is so obnoxious.
Pandaemoni 09-03-07, 08:47 PM i thought orlando bloom made an excellent elf in lord of the rings,
peace.
I thought he an excellent Vulcan in Lord of the Rings--emotions seemed to confuse him--but Vulcans (even when they have solid RP accents) aren't elves. I guess he figured "meh, pointy ears are pointy ears.")
Idle Mind 09-03-07, 10:27 PM Whaaat??!! Dustin Hoffman is a great actor. Sure he has been in some looser films but he has been exceptional in many others.
You're taking my post out of context. I had quoted a previous person's post, and was naming the actor that he couldn't think of. I happen to like Dustin Hoffman.
"Actors" I can't stand: Keanu Reaves and Nicholas Cage. Both are quite one-dimensional.
My least favourite actress, off the top of my head, is Brittany Murphy.
Idle Mind 09-03-07, 10:28 PM Who's that guy from the Rush hour movies that is always partners with chan? When
I find out, I hate him. His voice is so obnoxious.
Chris Tucker.
mikenostic 09-04-07, 01:44 PM Chris Tucker.
...was awesomely funny in Friday. Everything since then has just been 'meh'.
As for actors who seem only able to play themselves: Robin Williams, does he have to be so frantic? Jim Carrey, does he ever loose that idiotic facial expression? I also hate Adam Sandler and "born again virgin" Drew Barrymore:rolleyes:
Medicine*Woman 09-04-07, 04:48 PM *************
M*W: I know I'll get blasted for this, but even though she's a great actor, Julia Roberts annoys me. She has funny looking lips, and I hate that stupid laugh of hers, but it did make her famous.
spidergoat 09-04-07, 05:40 PM Everyone from "Malcom in the Middle". I also hate Julia Roberts and Adam Sandler. Al Pacino is annoying.
Nicholas Cage is awesome! Have you seen "Wild at Heart", "Raising Arizona"? I think he does alot of movies just to make the money.
