Very interesting little story. Apparently the famed terrorist Abu Nidal committed suicide in Iraq last week. First reports spoke of a 'bullet riddled body'. Later reports say he shot himself in the mouth after Iraqi intelligence agents presented him with evidence of his alleged participation in a plot to overthrow Saddam Hussein. Nidal is a bitter opponnent of Yasser Arafat and has reportedly done 'jobs' for not only Iran, Syria and others but also Mossad. The man was once one of the world's most wanted criminals but managed to sink into obscurity. Apparently the plot against Saddam was sponsored by an Arab state. This raises an interesting thought. Are Arab states (maybe even Iran) attempting to get Saddam before the Americans? It would make sense - remove Saddam and replace him with someone not chosen by the US. Taht would avert a US strike and seriously confuse the de-railed 'war on terrorism'. I think the US really needs Saddam to stay in place right now. His death would be a disaster for the right-wing nuts planning this Iraq adventure.
