Some questions for inzomnia:

<> Do you have any hobbies, what are they?

Omg, you are very fast! :D I have just sent a PM to shorty (I am so sorry,
Shorty, I did not login for many days, I have just seen your PM just now, and
so I could send the reply only just now). My PM to her was too long, when I
click 'send', all that I wrote is disappear, because apparently I have been
automatically logout :bawl:

<> Where were you born and where are you living right now?
I was born in West Java in Indonesia, on the foot of Tangkuban Perahu mountain.

Lets make avatar impressed.

Since two years ago I live in Koeln (Cologne), Germany.

<> What has been your most interesting journey/trip?
All has been interesting, but I guess I love Nepal the most.

<> Do you have any hobbies, what are they?
Yes, I have many. Reading, cooking, surfing (only on internet, lol), travelling, swimming, teasing my bf, hem.

I have moved your question from Round 4 here so that my thread will stay on top

Hi, Orleander, how is your new job? I read a couple of days ago, you got an
engineering job? Congratulations! :)

As for your question:

do you have any children?
*big grin* No. I wanted to, but I don't have any and I have not tried yet.

Do you have any gay family members?
As far as I know, no. My brothers are very beautiful, one of them is a bit feminine,
but no, they are not gays..

Did you ever write a letter to Santa?
No. I have a strange feeling that I have "never been a kid". Oh wait, yes, but thats
because my teacher asked us once.

Have you ever ridden a mechanical bull?
lol, no.

How old were you the first time you got drunk?
Never. I never drink a single drop. I am boring :bawl:

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A detective.

Do you know how to drive a motor cycle?
Yes, I used it everyday during my undergraduate years back then. If you live in
Indonesia, you should have a motor cycle, otherwise you will never arrive anywhere,
too many traffic jam.

What is the scariest movie you have ever sen?
*think hard...* Ok, I give up. I never feel I've been influenced till scared by any movie. :p

What is the worst movie you have ever seen?
Any movie with poor special effect. Movies should have good special effect,
or else just keep it simple.

Thanks, Challenger, I like questions about exam, every exam gave me special impression, no joke, lol.

Have you ever torn up/broken down/ blown up in the middle of an exam ?

Yes, once. During my BSc, there was an exam where I fall asleep in the middle
of it. I did a praktikum in lab for like 72 hours with nearly no sleep in between.
The next morning I had this exam where we had to draw process vessel carefully.
I thought I will sleep 10 minutes to recharge my energy before I answer the
question, but I woke up when exam time is over

Did you have strange thoughts during an exam ?
What do you mean by strange thoughts?? Anyway, during exam I always
tried to concentrate. Most of the time.

What would make you quit Sciforums ?
Earthquake? Fire? No internet connection? :D According to big-boards, sciforums
is #15 of the most popular science forum.

http://www.big-boards.com/kw/science/EN/

The first 14 is not so interesting for me, so I probably will stay somewhat long..

Hi, Sam.

1. what's the best thing you ever cooked?
According to my bf it is fish soup. But thats gotta be because I am poor at other foods, lol.

2. did you ever want to kill anyone?
huh? No. :D I want to kill all my classmate. j/k

3. has anyone ever hated you? if yes, why?
To be honest, I think none, because.. nothing to be jealous with me, lol.

4. do you want to get married?
What for a question, Sam? sure! Otherwise, how can I inherit money  j/k

5. how did you end up in Germany?
The BMBF (German federal ministry of education & research) has been generous to me.
They give me scholarship.

6. if you were President of Indonesia, what would you change?
Oh, God, too many to mention. But I won't be one

7. have you ever felt suicidal?
Nope, I told you my life is really boring.

8. have you ever made a decision you'll always regret?
Yes, there are few.

9. if you were on a lonely road and four aggressive guys surrounded you, what would you do?
I would told them, I have an aids. This is hypothetical ja? I have no aids, lol.

10. have you ever run away from home?
Huh, never. But my mom once left me in train. I was 3 or 4 years old. She
wanted to buy something and told me to wait in train, the train took me away.
I was with strangers for few days.

Do you play any sports?

Did you ask to go to Germany or was that just what the scholarship offered?

If you asked to go, what about Germany was so appealing to you?

What parts of Germany have you been to?

How is your German?
I graduated from a D.O.D. HS in Germany, that's why I'm asking so many Germany questions.

Have you ever gotten to go visit/pet any Komodo Dragons back in Indonesia?

What about orangutans?

Where were you when the 2004 tsunami hit?

Hi, Mike,

Do you play any sports?

Yes, I love and play some sports. Swimming, jogging, volley ball, martial arts
(very very long time ago). When I live in Indonesia, I like swimming a lot,
because swimming pool entrance fee is cheap :p We could also swim at
beaches, from my former office it was only 1 hour to go to beach.

I also love badmintons. Is hiking a sport? What about bungee jumping?
Done it once, but have not many chances.

Did you ask to go to Germany or was that just what the scholarship offered?

I applied for scholarship which is only applicable to study in Germany.

If you asked to go, what about Germany was so appealing to you?

Actually I wanted to go to US, Japan or Netherland, but chances to get in
Germany was bigger. I just take the opportunity with available time at hands.

What parts of Germany have you been to?
Not so many, let see.. Koeln (of course), Koblenz, Trier, Aachen, Frankfurt,
Dusseldorf, Dortmund, etc. Ok, many more. Anyway most beautiful places
was Trier (so old), Berlin, Koblenz, Muenchen, Helgoland (at the North Sea).

How is your German?
I graduated from a D.O.D. HS in Germany, that's why I'm asking so many Germany questions.

I passed level 2 DSH, but actually my German is really poor. The first year
courses are taught in English. Ah you were graduated from Germany hochschule?
Where and when?

Have you ever gotten to go visit/pet any Komodo Dragons back in Indonesia?

What is komodo dragons? I only know komodo, and there is a komodo national
park in Indonesia, but I have never been there. It is a protected species, but
as far as I concern, I have seen komodo in Indonesian zoo. Anyway it probably
not komodo dragons. *put on list to visit when I go back home*

What about orangutans?

I saw it closely in Taman Safari Bogor, a kind of zoo where visitor is the one
in the cage (car :p), in some zoos (for sure), and in nature when I visited Sumatera
for a project trip.

Where were you when the 2004 tsunami hit?

Was it 2004? I remember it was december near christmass, but dont remember
the year though. If it is December 2004, I was somewhere in my hometown or
near Jakarta, place where I worked in a Japanese company.

Have you ever been in Indonesia, Mike? We have nearly 17 thousands islands,
lots of beautiful places and attractive culture to see :)

Where and when?
It wasn't a German Hochschule. It was a Department of Defense dependent school. My mom was in the Army and I was an Army brat.
I graduated in Nuernberg. It's about an hour S/SE of Wuerzburg and about an hour north of Munich/Muenchen.

Have you ever gotten to go visit/pet any Komodo Dragons back in Indonesia?

What is komodo dragons? I only know komodo, and there is a komodo national

Yeah, I meant Komodos. I love lizards and those things fascinate me. I'd love to see one in a zoo or something, but I wouldn't want to meet a group of them out in the wild.

I have never been to Indonesia, but I have been to the Philippines and Okinawa. I was very little when I was in the PI, but I was stationed on Okinawa back in 2001. Very pretty island, but traffic sucks ass there.
It was either 2003 or 2004. I thought it was '04.

<> Do you ever wish you would just disappear ?

<> Have you ever been depressed ?
Yes, I have. If I see my bf or my close friends depressed, I feel also depressed.
Ah, last time when I went to Nepal, on the first two days of arrival, I felt completely
depressed, even my collegue and tutors don't know what to do. We were
surveying a prone earthquake areas, and what I have seen is a bit shocking.
People live in small houses, 13-15 people per house, altogether with their
parents or grandparents, sleep on the floor altogether, sometimes without
electricity, sometimes without water (many of them only take shower like
once per week).. they dont have proper cloth, and they live in houses which
looks like going to collapse.. i'll go look for pic later. Its utterly depressing..

Be right back.

Enmos' other questions

<> How would you like to die ?
Uh... peacefully  or romantically.. like die in the hug of my love one, under the rain, lol

<> You are offered a paradisaical place with a thousand people of your choice if you
except the death of all other people of the world. Would you do it ?
No, I wouldn't do. What about other people that I don't know? Sure they also
want to live in Paradise

<> Would you rather be blind or deaf ?
deaf

<> If given the choice between losing both legs and losing one arm, what would you choose ?
Guess first, and then find the answer between this lines (white text).
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, how about your legs or your arm, Enmos? :-P Given no other
choice, I wouldn't give up my both legs coz I luv travel and be mobile.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

<> Tea or coffee ? Sugar/milk ?
Tea on normal day, coffee on busy day. Milk.

<> What is the meaning of life ?
Huh, I don't know yet, you tell me..

<> Destroy humanity and save nature or destroy nature and save humanity ?
I would save humanity, but humanity couldn't live without nature. So lets do
a compromise. If I can't choose both, I would have 50% humanity and 50% nature.
The 50% humanity will repair the nature back.

<> Die now or live forever ?
Die later, lol.

<> Never have sex again or never have love again ?
huuh.. what for a question :D
To have sex without love is like prostitution.. Anyway, survival of human race
does not depend on love, so given those two choices I would prefer no love.

<> Do you want more extreme questions ?

Not at all :) Before I come here, I have heard a lot of unpleasant things from
friends who lived all around Europe and in Germany, but so far I have not
experiencing bad treatment. People are friendly especially old people. The men
are gentleman, and the women are friendly, but they are all a bit serious.

Hiya, all,

Where I live is now 2 PM, and I have to be ready for a group meeting in around 45 min.
If I could not finish replying this today (I type slowly :p), or if you have more questions,
I will accumulate them and continue replying either tonight or tomorrow. Btw, thanx
in advance, I find it as a great pleasure among some hectic daily stuffs.

In response to Enmos:

Hi Enmos! All is ok? Last night when I check this thread I saw you online around
2:30 AM (I was doing my report). This morning I check a bit, apparently last night
there was a 'hot' discussion in the beautiful man/woman thread which end up with
thread locking, or? :D

Does the good humans do outweigh the bad they do ? Why ?

P.S. Don't worry, I'll come up with some nasty ones later

Thats a bit difficult to answer, because when we talked about 'outweigh', we
should know where is the balance point first. :tempted:

Anyway I can only say that we human are not perfect, we are not free from
mistakes or doing bad things. If one try to do good things, even if the good
does not outweigh the bad, I consider him or her good person.

Btw I have just learn from my religion (I'm kinda new in it), that if we do good,
God will value the good 70x times, but if we do bad, it is just counted as one.
Das bedeutet that we are given the opportunity to outweigh our bad. But thats
just what my religion said, of course there are other measures from other
religion/moral/thoughts.

Thanks Inzomnia, but I see I didn't formulate the question properly..

What I meant was: Does the good humanity does outweigh the bad humanity does ? Why ?

So I meant humanity as a whole.
The balance point is of course neutrality to either of these properties (good/bad). AKA innocence :)

Hi Why?, this time no "why" questions? :D

What is your favorite food?

An Indonesian food called as bakso. It is a kind of meatball made from beef.
Inside the beef layer sometimes there is chicken heart. Inside chicken heart
sometimes there is egg. Something like this:

http://thearisan.com/resep/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/bakso.jpg

Its not so yummy, but very popular, means available everywhere. If I am too
busy to cook, I just order that.

What is your favorite color?

I like maroon combined with white.

Do you think Marxist dictatorships are the cat's meow?
Uuh.. not really. I dont really believe in the concept of 'democracy for the poor'
or the ruling class. In fact, I dont really believe in democracy, as most of the time
it is proven wrong. Sorry if that don't answer your question, I am not expert on
this topic. :o

I am sure they are lucky to have you there ;)

As for your questions:

How many cell phones have you had?
At the moment I have two. When I am in a long train and feel a bit bored, I called
myself from my other mobile so I looked like busy. j/k

What color is your toothbrush?
bhaha, lol. I notice you also asked about this once somewhere, is the color of
toothbrush a special thing for you? :D Mine is a combination of pink & white.

Do you own a dictionary?
Yes, I have a lot. Here with me I have English, German, Spanish, French,
Arabic. The last one is a gift. At home I have Japanese and some others that
I inherit from my late grandma.

What is your favorite flower?
All flowers are beautiful. I can't choose.

What is your favorite holiday?
I love ALL holidays.

I agree but the problem that lies therein is that people have proven time and time and time again that even though communism(or what you are suggesting) works awesome on paper, will never work in real life. There are just entirely too many greedy, selfish people out there that want to be in those positions of power, and will not run the country anywhere near like it's supposed to be ran.

In response to Enmos' 'regular questions' (doh! :D)

<> Do you belief extraterrestrial life exists somewhere in the universe ?
I have no enough knowledge to judge this. Anyway, according to science and
faith, the possibility is there.

According to science, as far as I know, the origin of life were begin in the sea,
where simple molecules bonded together and self-replicating. This is based on
Oparin experiment (or was it Urey? I'll googling later), which confirms that
primeval soup of organic molecules -the basic material to build life form- can
be created in water environment, under high pressure and action of sun light
(I'll have to check later).

According to faith (at the moment I am a muslim), it is written in the Quran,
Al-Anbiya 21:30 (scroll down to 021.030 (http://www.jannah.org/qurantrans/quran21.html), that God made every living things
from water. Now I sound like a preacher, doh

As far as I concern, there are liquid in outer space, like at Jupiter's moons
(Europa), Ganymede, Titan, and who knows where else. If the basic material
is there, I believe there is a chance that there are extraterrestrial life out
there.

If the definition of intelligent life is for example as stated here (http://www.sffworld.com/authors/s/savage_steven/articles/intelligentlife.html):
Intelligent life is a life form that is able to process enough information,
adapt by this learning, and pass the information on another member of its species.

I really can't answer that. With the knowledge at hands, it is too far to assume
that there is intelligent life among it (extraterrestial life).

<> Do you think we will discover a habitable planet any time soon (< 50 years) ?
At this moment I wish that I used to follow other subforum like astronomy, earth science,
biology, and related subforums *sigh*.

Well, according to National Geographic, it is already discovered. It is known as Gliese 581 c.
Link: First Habitable Earthlike Planet Found, Experts Say (http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/04/070424-new-planet.html):
The most Earthlike planet yet found, it orbits a red dwarf star and likely contains liquid water, said the European astronomers who made the discovery.

The planet is estimated to be only 50 percent larger than Earth, making it the smallest planet yet found outside the solar system, according to a team led by Stephane Udry of the Geneva Observatory in Switzerland.

Cinta Pertama - Sunny

Sunny sunny
Jantungku berdebar tiap kuingat padamu
Sunny Sunny
Mengapa ada yang kurang saat kau tak ada
Sunny Sunny
Melihatmu menyentuhmu itu yang kumau

Kau tak sempat tanyakan aku, cintakah aku padamu

Reff:
Tiap kali aku berlutut aku berdoa
Suatu saat kau bisa cinta padaku
Tiap kali aku memanggil di dalam hati
Mana Sunny mana Sunnyku mana Sunnyku

Sunny Sunny
Apa kabarmu kabarku baik baik saja
Sunny Sunny
Begitu banyak cerita tak habis tentangmu
Sunny Sunny
Salamku untukmu dari hati yang terdalam

English version

First Love - Sunny

Sunny sunny
My heart is beating everytime I remember you
Sunny Sunny
Why there is something missing when you're not around
Sunny Sunny
Seeing you, touching you, thats what I wanted

You didn't ask me, whether I love you

Reff:
Everytime I bend on my knee I pray
That one day you will love me
Everytime my heart calling up your name
Where's Sunny where's my Sunny where's my Sunny

Sunny Sunny
How are you I'm just fine
Sunny Sunny
So many stories I heard about you
Sunny Sunny
Greeting for you from the bottom of my heart

Haha. No, but that's the closest thing I could come up with. It would be close to a dictatorship or monarchy, except with a few people, not just one.

SAM gotta know how to answer this type of questions :o Or if there are already
threads like this (best economic/political system), I'll try to participate there

As for your political system suggestion, as long as those that were in charge stayed honest and true to their morals, I see no problem with it.
But a classic example of how that can go wrong is Bush and his few cronies think that they run the country and that Congress is just an afterthought or window dressing.
Those 'few' people that would be in charge would not have any checks or balances against them should they start to try to run things their own way.

There are good reasons to assume that intelligent alien lifeforms will look similar to us (at least lifeforms that inhabit earth like planets).
For example, it makes sense to have senses like the eyes, nose and ears high up on the body so they can gather more information. Also they will be place at the front of the life form or at least on the side in which the being moves.
Further, it makes sense to have these sense close to the brain for response-time reasons.
So now we have a head probably sitting an a neck.

There are also reasons for the internal organs (like the guts etc.) to be where we have them and for being bipedal. :)

Dear all,

I am terribly sorry I haven't replied your questions yet, I was in the middle
of hectic schedule with 4-5 deadlines at the same week, and every single
minutes I had was really critical.

*Take a breath* fiuuuuhhhhhhhhh..................... :bawl:

Thx again to Orleander for her PM, thats really nice of you :)

I don't know whether I have time to answer the questions for now, but at
first I would like to start the Round 6 (do you people still follow it? :-P).
I haven't really free till Thursday.

Sorry, I suppose to started Round 6 yesterday. There are nobody volunteering
for Round 6, but I have got a confirmation from Cosmictraveller that he agreed
on my previous offer to participate in Round 6.

Ok, see you all in Round 6 ;]

Sorry for having abandoning the responses in this thread for
few days. Round 6 has been started, but as I still left over
some questions here, I would try to respond now.

Haha. No, but that's the closest thing I could come up with.

It would be close to a dictatorship or monarchy, except with a few people, not just one.

Thx Mike. When I thought of the system, I was referring to
Muhammad and the Rashidun Caliphs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rashidun)leadership (maybe Gandhi
also, they are rare or I just dont know many). They seem to
be great leader to me, in which they have the necessary
capacity for it and at the same time they were well known
for their modesty.

Thanks Inzomnia

There are good reasons to assume that intelligent alien lifeforms will look similar to us (at least lifeforms that inhabit earth like planets).
For example, it makes sense to have senses like the eyes, nose and ears high up on the body so they can gather more information. Also they will be place at the front of the life form or at least on the side in which the being moves.
Further, it makes sense to have these sense close to the brain for response-time reasons.
So now we have a head probably sitting an a neck.

There are also reasons for the internal organs (like the guts etc.) to be where we have them and for being bipedal.

Thanks, Enmos, to be honest, only when I visited sciforums
I could think of that, that there were probably extraterrestial
life out there and that they could even resemble us. I haven't
really have much time in hands as I still struggle to settle for
my future. I wish after I reach 30 y.o I will be more relax....

haha... questions from Orleander are refreshing as always!

Have you ever slapped someone?
No, never. I tend to make distance when things are being
misunderstood. Which could make the situation worse.

Have you ever not left a waiter a tip?
As far as I remember, no. Unless I eat in a fast food restaurant.

What is your favorite sport? Do you play it?
http://www.sciforums.com/showpost.php?p=1703756&postcount=14

Have you ever had surgery?
Yes I had once. When I was a kid I play "throw coin and carry
me on your back" game with my neighbour. So this boy had to
carry me on his back for some distance. I was too heavy or he
was too tired, after we played it again and again, he falled
down and made my head hit a glass window. They had to sew my
head. Is this count as surgery?

I rarely visited hospital unless I have to have a medical check
up certificate or just to have some vitamin as I have quite low
blood pressure. I faint easily when air is too hot or when I stand
too long, lol. So I tried to do lots of sport to improve my stamina.

Do you chew your nails?
Hee, nope. But I often pull my hair (just few threads, those
somewhere around the center of my head). I do it softly, it
makes me relax when I am nervous.

How many piercings do you have? What age were you when you got them?
Do you have a tattoo?
I have none. Do you have any??

What is the scariest situation you have ever been in?

I can't remember now, but the latest one is when I was in
Kathmandu last year. We have just come back from Nepal's
National Botanical Garden, and our Nepali collegues told
us there is bomb blast in Kathmandu (3-5 bombs), so we have
to stay in hotel until the situation is cool. And then, one
of my friend wanted to use internet not so far from the hotel.
It was around 9 PM. She said it was urgent and she asked me
to accompany her. I went with her then she was chatting with
her fiancee until nearly 10 PM. Because the hotel door will
be closed at 10, I asked her to go back to hotel, but she
insisted she still need to use internet. So I said I would
go back and told the hotel to keep the door open for her.
I was a bit panic (because I was thinking of the bomb) I then
get lost! The situation become worse because it was started to
rain. It was in Thamel, very crowded city center of Kathmandu,
but after 10 PM all street are dark. I decided to go back
to the internet cafe but couldn't find it, I guess they were
closed. My mobile did not work coz my Germany Vodafone didn't
work there so I couldnt call my friend or the hotel. Then I
decided to take a taxi. I asked a taxi driver to take me to
the hotel, but the guy dont know the hotel or he just didnt
understand my English. I was so afraid, just standing in this
dark street and there are few guys looked at me strangely.

As I stood nearly cried under the rain :p, I saw somebody
come with umbrella and I noticed that as one of my friend,
so I just run to him. Apparently, I was so closed to the hotel,
but I did not notice it, because they already shut down all
the lights, while the hotel name itself is displayed by a lightening.
What a terrible hotel! It easier to blame the hotel.

I hope there was no tsunami :o

Ok, cordial thanks for all your participation. Lets get back to cosmic ;-P
