Download VirtualDub (a free video processing utility) at http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ (v1.5.10)

Open the program, drag your video to it and select File > Save WAV

Convert the wave file to mp3

I don't quite remember, but I think that Nandub could compress it to mp3 on the fly (it's like enchanted audio version of VirtualDub).
It's been long out of winworld, so my info may be incorrect or outdated.
If you use Linux, then Avidemux can do what you need.
