So, a new album,

Anyone heard it ?, I'm listening to it on youtube while I'm waiting for it download..

A couple of new things, harder riffs, different stuff, but I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, so I'll reserve judgement,

Anywho, they're back, in black ice.

Is that the one that came out with a movie?

Way to be specific there, Orly.

I've heard a few tracks, but I really like Rock n Roll Train.

LOL, didn't AC/DC's latest CD come out with a movie? A movie of them in concert?

I dont think so. Live at Donnington is the only concert movie i know of and i dont think it coincided with a cd.

Then there was the steven king movie which used a song or two of theirs.

2 hours AC/DC No Bull is on Mojo TV right now.

I was about 17 when I saw Let there be rock, which was recorded in Paris. I guess I am an old guy...

found it. Is it a remade Donnington? Or is it new?

Syzygys

It was recorded in Madrid in 1996..

("no bull" got it?)

So there are (at least) 3 concert videos of AC/DC:

1980: Let there be Rock (Paris)
1992: Live at Donington
1996: No Bull (Madrid)

So watching the 3rd one right now, and I rented the Donington from the library, I have seen it all...

1996?! That's over a decade. %^&$# I thought it was something newer.

I guess they recorded If you want Blood, in Glasgow, but it was never released:

"Concert Footage
The concert was entirely shot in film but the entire footage has never been released. Eventually, "Riff Raff" and "Fling Thing/Rocker" segments were made available on the AC/DC Family Jewels DVD. Footage was also used on the "Rock 'n' Roll Damnation" promotional clip also available in Family Jewels. Also more concert footage was later made available on the Highway To Hell Live Concert DVD. More segments from the concert (alas the songs "Rock 'n' Roll Damnation," "Dog Eat Dog," and "Let There Be Rock") were made available on the DVD Plug Me In, released in 2007, a couple months after the previously mentioned Highway To Hell DVD. The segment "Bad Boy Boogie" was included on the Bonus disc on the three-disc edition of the DVD.
Despite there was no official release of the concert, there is a DVD available from the German FNM Label. (Falcon Neue Medien) (4:3 PAL)It contains the footage of a broadcast from Scottish TV who broadcasted the concert. On the DVD appears 37 minutes of the concert: (titles as printed on DVD)"

You know it's not that strange comming from an aussie, but I was shocked when I realized kids in the USA are into the eighties "hard rock" again.

At least your not into Poison , Warrent, and Def Leopard. (Right?)

AC/DC rocks. Let me know what you think.

My 10 yr old daughter has 2 AC/DC shirts and knows Iron Man word for word. For Xmas she wants a Black Sabbath T-shirt.

My son thinks he is the first kid in the world to really 'get' Queen.

Better than a lot of the 80's crap. The bands you listed rock.

BTW, if your son gets Queen, you may not have to worry about becoming a grandmother for his children anytime soon.

They do rock, in a queeny kind of way, though.

I heard "Rock 'n Roll Train" on the radio recently, .... to me it sounded like a band trying to sound like AC~DC, or perhaps a track that wasn't good enough to make the cut in one of their post peak albums, like 'Let There be Rock'.

It's reminiscent of their peak years, but somehow flat. I'll listen to the tracks available for preview on their Myspace and see if anything grabs me, ... or just carry on sounding like an old bastard and spin up my copy of 'Back in Black' and remember the good old days.

Wrong. Queen is one of the most popular classic rock bands ever.
They have songs on the Wayne's World soundtrack (I guess Wayne and Garth are huge homos for listening to them?), Flash Gordon and Dune(the original one).
How can you even begin to say that...
-Another One Bites the Dust
-We Are the Champions
-Fat Bottomed Girl
are 'queeny' songs??

Funny, because the only thing I could think of when I heard this song is:
-damn, they still fuckin got it
-they haven't lost a step, this song rocks

Haven't heard of them. Don't sound too bad.. but for some reason, the only 80s band I like are ACDC and Iron Maiden.

Oh, And I love Iron man, The movie didn't do the song justice. (used it once, and at the end too!).

Yeah!, Skies on Fire!

And 'Flash Gordon' wasn't as camp as a boy scout jamboree?

Jeez, 'Queen' are camp, Freddie was gay. Queen fans are just one step ahead of Marillion fans IMO (good job or the Marillion fans would be taking it up the butt else.)

I reckon if you hadn't heard 'Back in Black' and had it on vinyl back in the day, 'Black Ice' might cut it. It's a little lacklustre by comparison, but yeah, it's OK.

I'll stick to being an old giffer I think, and hail 'Back in Black' as the must have album, and give the new one a swerve.

Whatever crackpot. Nice stereotyping there. And I'm well aware that Freddie was gay. Who doesn't know that?
EVERY classic rock station I've listened to plays Queen. Classic rock stations tend to attract classic rock listeners. You're not going to sit there and tell me that everyone who listens to classic rock stations are homos.

It was a bullshit inclusion in your original post, it needed no reply. Wayne's World does not set the bar, for what is gay or not.

You're not going to sit there and tell me that everyone who listens to classic rock stations are homos.

Only those that really, really dig Queen.

Queen is for wimps. Poor fistbanger. I bet you like Judas Priest too, don't you?

Judas priest seems.. , I dunno.. weird. or maybe too punk with me.

Iron maiden and ACDC are the only two older rock bands that I'm really into.

Yet, they were rated 4rth and 7th respectively, in between were some random bands like Slayer and Pantera... (this is on Mtv).

I can understand Metallica, Black Sabbath and maybe even Judas Priest, but who were these guys, and If I haven't heard of them, why should they be ranked ?

The word you are looking for I think, is gay. Not in the gay way, but in a gay way. Although Ron Halford is gay.

I mean gay as in camp. Just check out the video for 'Breaking the Law' and tell me that's not gay.
