The question posed here...Would the world, the universe, life, and everything be better of with moderators or without moderators...and are there other choices?

The Israel/ Palestinian thing can go an forever and ever. There used to be a sticky devoted to it, otheadp knows. I think it would be beneficial if people tried to go into it in a little more depth, showing real information or research, rather than just "they took their land". Feel free to start another thread if you wish.

It's an interesting idea... in a world ruled by rational people, this could work.

I for one live my life without regard to written rules because I know what is right and wrong. However, most people cannot handle 100% freedom.

Almost everyone needs a fence and a guide dog. But, a small fence and an aggressive guide dog is not what we need nor want.

I don't think the moderation has gotten tougher recently. It seems about the same as it was when I first started posting here, which is about how it should be. JamesR does a good job as supermod, and we need moderators to move threads to where they belong.
