Would you use this or contribute to it if your city had it?

A local wikipedia for your city/town that would highlight the history of various businesses, neighborhoods, local landmarks, local celebrities (In portland we have this dude who does Tai-Chi in the park all day), etc.

These guys did it in Davis, CA: localwiki.org

Right I didn't mean just one page for your city on wikipedia; I meant a whole wikipedia site that revolves around your city.

If you have a look at Google's Google Earth application, you'll find that people can add entries onto the map. These entries can be wiki entries, websites and even 3D models through the Google Sketchup application can also be attached to the map.

I mention this because it's a way of observing if a community local to an area in question actually pulls together to generate a rich and diverse amount of data with the availability of such an app, or if indeed it's really down to a minority of individuals that actually want to add something compared to a majority of "users".
