First of all it claims this is was a Christian nation (well it started as a 50% puritan (who were christens) and a 50% Deist nation (who were not christens) and then got more and more Christian until the most resent decades) and that statues as having been Christian now has to move over to egalitarianism and allow other religions like Islam (oh the horror!) a seat in our society. Trust me that should get them farmland christens in a cold sweat and foaming at the mouth rage! tim840 06-24-08, 01:59 PM Doesn't sound damning to me, although I think, factually, he's probably wrong, because as far as I know, the number of Muslims in America is pretty small. Do you know what the rest of the sentence was, because you can't really tell what he meant by that. Oh and also, the Americans of the Revolution, in the 1770s, were all Christian, so I would consider America a Christian nation. iceaura 06-24-08, 02:09 PM Oh and also, the Americans of the Revolution, in the 1770s, were all Christian, Say what ? ! ElectricFetus 06-24-08, 02:16 PM Oh and also, the Americans of the Revolution, in the 1770s, were all Christian, so I would consider America a Christian nation. Nope, incorrect! http://www.atruechurch.info/revolution.html Deism was the prevalent belief among the Forefathers, such as Paine, Jefferson, Franklin, and others. Many contemporaries of the Revolution understood that Christianity and religion were the binding elements that could bring together the secularists and the religious together. The secularists (who are the Deists) were children of the Enlightenment, who invoked the name of God, but whose god was in fact dead.
