View Full Version : A refreshingly new thread about something different
spacemansteve 08-02-06, 02:36 AM With all the Anti-muslim, Anti-Jewish, Anti anything threads i've decided to start one that has a different topic. Spurred on by the posting of "Why England is the best country" thread, i decided to start this one. Australia, the best nation... thats right, better than the UK and let me start why.
Australia has everything, Tropical Jungles, Wide sandy beaches, A Coral Reef, Alps, Desert and even a big rock called Uluru. Its people are the most diverse you'll ever find and we are increasinly becoming competitive on the world stage with a large amount of things. We are one of the greatest sporting nations, our wine is being exported to countries like France, Our Arts and Culture is among the greatest in the world. Sure we don't have a large amount of written history but this baby nation has been born to a crazy century and has endeavoured (haha Captain Cook landed on Australia in the Endeavour) to make an imprint in the global community. Can you think of a nation that has all of the above? I challenge people to explain why or why not this nation, which is only 100 yrs old, is the greatest.
And for all you poms out there, for a former convict settlement i think we're doing a hell of alot better than you hey :p
imaplanck. 08-02-06, 02:50 AM A country that has Kangaroos for wildlife cant possibly be better than us, argument over you lose. :p Now get neighbours and all your other cheese selections off our airwaves please, much obliged.
spacemansteve 08-02-06, 03:28 AM Hey we're the only country where it is legal to eat our coat of arms. Kangaroo and Emu are great! As long as you cook it right, some of the best tasting game meat ever :p
spacemansteve 08-02-06, 03:29 AM Oh and btw, I apologise for neighbours and all those crap shows... and i'm sure the Australian government would too
Lemme just put it this way. There's a reason why people left Britain to form the United States and Australia. ;)

redarmy11 08-02-06, 04:00 AM Well: in Australia's case they were persuaded to leave rather forcibly. I don't know enough about US history to say whether this applies in America's case. Let's just say we're not shedding any tears to see you go. Also, look what a mess you've made of things. ;)
Also, look what a mess you've made of things.
Hey, it's the little bit of imperialism left in our British blood. ;)

spacemansteve 08-02-06, 07:53 AM Don't see many poms with a tan do ya. And can anyone tell me where there is a good surfing beach in England where i'm not going to die of Hypothermia?
My friend used to go out there every summer with his surf board, I think its somewhere in Devon probably Westward I think thats north Devon...I think somewhere out there...
Buffalo Roam 08-02-06, 08:11 AM And there were a lot of transporties sent to America, and when they arrived here the Crown sold them off as indentured, to pay the cost of getting them here.
vslayer 08-02-06, 12:30 PM we might not have sand, baron wasteland or a big rock(doesnt sound too great when you put it like that anyway) but new zealand kicks your dingo-eaten arses anyday :m:
I've never met Baron Wasteland. Is he related to the Witch of the Wasteland?
DJ Erock 08-02-06, 02:16 PM What's Austrailia's stance on drugs?
redarmy11 08-02-06, 02:18 PM They're rightly viewed as a poor substitute for lots and lots of lager.
DJ Erock 08-02-06, 03:26 PM I meant in terms of legality. And by no means am I against lots and lots of lager. As long as I don't drink it too quickly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32aZCB8396g&search=waste%20virginia%20tech)
madanthonywayne 08-02-06, 07:22 PM Hey, isn't Mel Gibson Australian? You guys do have a lot to be proud of.
Hey, isn't Mel Gibson Australian? You guys do have a lot to be proud of.

Australia, the best nation... thats right, better than the UK and let me start why.
No American dog in this fight.
Go, Aussies. ;)
The Winner: Call us.
We'll do your funeral. :)

Not by birth.
Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson was born on January 3, 1956, in Peekskill, New York, USA as the sixth of eleven children to parents.
But he has an accent... ;)
