Twas the night to ride, into the cold. As we try, we are told of the dangers. With the reply, "We fear only ourselves". So off through the night we rode. The cold of the night began to take affect. But, we pay no attention. After all we are the feared, with only the thought of ourselves. The snow around us was numbing to the touch, making our skin turn white and blue. But, this cold was like no other we had seen. We could see the wolves behind us, they could sense the smell of death. So, we began to hold our breathe, hoping for the best. We need a rest, for our legs began to stiffen. The wolves move in closer, and I yell to them "I will not succumb to a wolf, come to me and feel my blade." They began to back off, perhaps they knew i would have killed them, or where they waiting for me to weaken. These thoughts racing through my head, I'm becoming paranoid. We must keep moving i said to my friend, but he does not move. He lie stiff on the ground. What weakness, I must leave on my own. But, I cannot stand up, perhaps I shall wait for the wolves to collect my soul. Is this a poem or a story? I beleive it to be a poem. One with older styles of writing. But, people beleive it to be a story extract. I wrote this no doubt. But perhaps some of you can finally answer this for me. I do not want to know what you think of the poem. I want to know what you think it is.
Sounds to me like a poem...actually I listen to rap...this story if rapped, would sound pritty darn nice.
Story. The smell of 'twas at its beginning is its poetic cologne and that's it. Plus, its short. That all of it?
Its not just any story, its a rap story...u know sorta like Eminem...crying out..."I will not succumb to a wolf...da wolf..."
I don't think its rap. The rap-mammal is usually a dawg, a bitch or a pig but never a wolf. I could be mistaken.

Haha, well this is all of it. All there was meant to be of it. ehh, i guess you could say it has a rap flow.
Well, I think you should look at poems such as "The Code" By Robert Frost http://www.ketzle.com/frost/thecode.html I guess you could say it has simularities or not. Either way they both appear to be story extracts.
Lol, well. I find this to be something of a compliment. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Robert Frost wrote some poems simular to storys. But they were considered poems because it didn't have the basics of a story. This poem does not meet the requirements to be a story though. I suppose it's simular. But I guess the only reason it wouldn't be considered a poem now a days because teenagers have tooken over the poetry world with a poem like. Well let me make one up. It is so simple I figure that this should never be considered a poetic style. "I wake at noon But the find my love she lay in the tub her roasy cheeks feel cold as winters breeze I feel a rush of panic through my heart down to my soul I take the razor blade and cut the pain from my chest A slice of the wrist and I lie cold as my love" I made that in a matter of seconds. But that is a poem...because it lacks the requirements of a story correct? I feel my story does not have falling action. So there for it cannot be a story.
Lol, yea. But I'm in a state in which i refuse to think its a story. Sorry. Not trying to be too defensive.
it's your story (poem) you have every right to defend it i always thought poems had words that sounded alike
Its a poem allright...sort of like a long haiku...rap haiku.... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! ... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
