View Full Version : A moment of silence: Tony Snow, dead at 53

Tony Snow, former White House Press Secretary, has died of cancer (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7503368.stm) at age 53. Although Mr. Snow worked as a substitute host for Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly as well as having his own show on FOX News, his tenure as Press Secretary—coming as it did between Scott McClellan and Dana Perino—will be remembered for at least attempting to answer the questions put to him. This, in itself, deserves our respect. Frequently mixing conservative politics with alleged facts, Snow said in his final press briefing that he loved the oft-fiery encounters.

He leaves behind his wife of twenty-one years, Jill Ellen Walker, and three children, Robbie, Kendall, and Kristi.

Very sad, they he thought he had won his fight with cancer a year or two ago but it came back this time with a vengence. 53 years young.

He was scum, and he wasted his life. What's with respecting people in death more than they ever deserved in life?

Another douchebag bites the dust. Generally I hate every WH spokeperson unless they are blonde and sexy and female. Then I just mute them.

Snow was adored for his verbal josting with the reporters. Except that is not what the spokeperson's job is. Also what the fuck is it that he has to take his cup with him? Can't he be without a drink for 20 mins???

As an explanation before Draqon gets a heartattack, a classy and gentlemanly lie is still a lie...Not to mention, if you work for Fox News, you are pretty much automaticly a douchebag...

Snow on W:

"The English Language has become a minefield for the man, whose malaprops make him the political heir not of Ronald Reagan, but Norm Crosby." Tony Snow

"At one point last week, he stunned a friendly audience by barking out absurd and inappropriate words, like a soul tortured with Tourette’s." Tony Snow

"No president has looked this impotent this long" Tony Snow

“George Bush has become something of an embarrassment.” Tony Snow

---------------

Now here comes the question: If he said these before he took the spokeperson job, why would you work for a man who you think is an idiot? If he said this after the job, it is kind of disloyal...

P.S.: He said these BEFORE he got the job...

Just for Draqon sake, here is a little Tony's performance:

Perhaps he thought he could serve his country by lending his talents to the president. Given that Mr. Snow was an excellent communicator, and this was a skill the administration was sorely lacking, it was a good fit. What patriot would turn down such an opportunity? He did a great job as press secretary. He will be missed.

To say something good about him, at least he wasn't bald or a fat sweating sleezeball.

I agree, a true patriot would take the job of official LIAR any day, at least that is what loyalty is about....

This thread once again shows just how radical some of the leftists are in these forums. A perfectly decent well known guy dies, who never did anything to them, and they're spitting on him already.

When the liberal news commentator Tim Russert died earlier this year, were there any republicans in these forums spitting on his grave ?

No, but the Republicans don't want to show that they can't hold their tongue like the Democrats which usually comes back at them, like now.

First, Russert was not liberal, second I criticized him, there is a thread about him so go ahead and do a search before you make unsustainable accusations.

Lying for money and for the most illegal US government in recent history sure doesn't make a decent fellow....Have I mentioned that I never namecall???

Here is one of them:

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2007/06/15/the-daily-show-catches-tony-snow-lying/

P.S.: For request I could post a dozen of them, but I wouldn't do that to a dead man...

RIP Tony "Congress Has No Oversight Responsibility over the White House" Snow, at least you were goodlooking, and that's what counts...

When you're on the far left-wing fringe, even liberals may seem moderate or conservative to you.....;)

And I was talking about conservatives not criticizing Tim, you're no conservative.

Syzygys

Why would they criticize him? He had no enemies, and that tells a lot about you in US politics. (aka, you are in the middle)

When you're on the far left-wing fringe, even liberals may seem moderate or conservative to you...

Is this equivalent with this?:

When you are in the far right, even people in the middle seem to be leftish for you... :)

This thread once again shows just how radical

The correct word, by the way is CONSISTENT, not radical.

If I thought of Tony as an asshole while he was a spokeperson, there is no need to change my mind, just because he passed away, right?

No, RADICAL.

Leftists that are defensive of Communist democides of tens of millions of people, are apologists for terrorists, and disrespect a person who just died of cancer just because they worked for Fox News, are RADICAL leftists.

So not only do you spit on his grave, but you think he should have gone to jail.
Please explain what "crime" Tony committed ?
And what "lie" did Tony put out ? be specific plz.

Not for you, because you are unable to see analogies... :bawl:

The point is, well, I already posted it about 3 times, so let's not repeat it...

Hey let's have fun! Who is the more moral person:

1. One who doesn't change his opinion of a person just because that person died.

2. One who knowingly and willingly takes a job where he is paid to lie and misslead millions of his countrymen???

Nobody has yet proven that Tony "lied" about anything.....
Have any specific examples where Tony Snow deliberately lied ?

In that story about the firing of the attorneys, for all we know that was Tony's honest opinion they weren't fired because of politics, or perhaps not.
Besides, he was giving that as his commentary opinion, not reporting it as news on the first account.
That stupid story about GWB firing some attorneys is trivial anyhow, other presidents have done it too in greater magnitude; it's their priviledge. Whoop-de-doo.

Firing attorneys by Bush: executive priviledge

Lying about it to the public: spokeperson priviledge :)

Can you read Tony Snow's mind ?
Like I said, we don't know if he was giving his honest opinion, or knew something we don't know. I doubt if there's some "grand conspiracy" about the attorneys firings that they'd tell their press secretary about it...

Given that Mr. Snow was an excellent communicator, and this was a skill the administration was sorely lacking, it was a good fit. And the nature of what he was "communicating" is to be overlooked ?

It is a patriotic calling, to help hide crimes and betrayals of one's country ?
