    I'm curious...

Obviously Bush has had plenty to say over the past year, and much of it is littered with phrases like

    "Americans believe that..."
    "All Americans are united in..."
    "The American people will..."
    "The American people agree..."
    "As Americans we will not...

There are no qualifiers or modifiers such as, "most Americans" or many Americans," or, "I think I might be right in saying that...", "Perhaps many Americans will agree with me..."

I understand that since 9/11, a semblance of unity has been important. But this seems to be a pattern even in the calmest of political times and regarding the most mundane of issues, and one that I feel few other national leaders follow with such consistency, if at all.

Personally, I would take great offense at this blanket assumption of what my opinions are, whether or not he was right.

As Americans, how do you feel?

Well, the answer to your question depends on if a person has a liberal or conservative bias.

I don't take offense at it, because I know i'm an individual and my views aren't the same as ANYBODY else, let alone the other 277,999,999 of us. I don't complain about Bush or the government though, because like alot of people would say after somebody complained "What are you going to do about it?" or something to that effect.

Basically i just live here, i'm not a patriot, but i'm not a seditious person either. I live here, go to school here, will get a higher education here, and then probably leave.
