The streets were empty on that early morning, while Jeremy was walking home, exhausted from all the noise and demanding people in the bar where he was working. It's been a hard nights work. He pulled his jacket closer around his tired body and shivered in the cold of the night.
His footsteps sounded hollow on the cobblers as he went on to the next street, up to the church, in which just a few days ago a terrible murder had taken place. Jeremy's heart started to pound louder as he approached the huge building. It stood there, sharp and dark, under the streetlights.
Jeremy began to walk quicker, eager to leave this place of misfortune, as soon as he could. He glanced with growing unease at the church, which seemed to smile devilish at him, somehow.
A soft tingling, sounded behind him. Jeremy startled and turned around. Nothing was to be seen in the darkness though. He breathed heavily and was almost in a state to run as hard as he could.
Cold sweat trickled down his brow at once and a feeling of being watched made the hairs on his back stand up in full alert.
Again, the soft, tingling, noise sounded. So softly, that he first thought it hadn't been there at all. It must've been his imagination playing tricks on him. Jeremy sighed and looked away from the church.
The moment he looked away, he saw a movement. With disbelief and with a feeling of ice, pricking in his flesh, he turned toward the church.
A hazy shape emerged from the window to his left. And formed itself into a figure...
