Needless to say, this thread is a continuation of the valid debates in the previous thread. The criterion for a debate being valid simply being that continuation of the debate will not result in thread closure. Also, I would appreciate it, if, at least for this thread, moderators would simply delete or edit a post that would warrant the thread being closed, rather than closing this thread. Thank you. I agree with guthrie. I'm getting rather annoyed that my threads are being closed because they erupt into a spookz versus gendanken debate, with thefountainhed being the straw that breaks the moderator's back. If you two are going to have a debate, do it somewhere else so my threads don't keep getting closed. Also, regarding thefountainhed, please refrain from posting in this thread unless you have some standing debate you would like me to address, since your posts seem to posses that special quality that warrants the closure of threads. Seriously though, if two members can't control their debates and keep them from overwhelming thread after thread, shouldn't they possibly face temporary suspension, or some kinf of nforcement of the rules? I don't have anything against anybody...I haven't actually conversed with Gendaken and it's been ages since spookz and I have had any kind of exchange. And I never really stick around to watch their debates. But if it's actually just a couple of individuals who ruin one legitimate thread after another, maybe some kind of action should be taken. Just a free thought.

The whole point of this thread is to end any standing debates that I have with posters, not to create new ones, or force others to debate. However, it would be foolish to assume that this would not entail some debate, which I am aware of, but the purpose of doing so is simply to end the aforementioned discussions. The discussion is about ending standing debates that I have with other posters, that's all. EDIT: Added reply to spookz. The threads are as follows: "Education: Your Own, and that of Society", and "I'm Done Debating". Skimming through those should get you up to speed. EDIT: Added another reply to spookz. Cool. That makes 2/4. Thanks. I would also like to mention that your posts in the "Ethics, Morality, & Justice" subforum are usually quite insightful, and tend to raise rather interesting issues.
In the land of research grants, and doctorate thesises. That is about the level people start actually thinking. (meph) I'm not saying it takes a research grant or doctorate thesis to spark though.(meph) alright kids! spot the contradiction, then pin the tail on the donkey! I'm not saying that a higher education is required for creative thought. In fact, quite the opposite.
