View Full Version : $87,000,000,000
Brian Foley 10-22-04, 02:28 PM On September 7th, 2003, President Bush announced on American T.V that he was asking the Congress to grant him an additional $87 billion to continue the fight on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. American schools lack money to buy every student a textbook. The American civilian infrastructure such as roads is falling apart , your medical emergency rooms shutting down. Reading latest news reports US shopping malls show high vacancy rates and it looks to be another weak Christmas season. Yet this hasn’t stopped your goverment mis-spending your money out of your pocket for a war your own goverment initiated by this same corrupt entity by lying to you .
Undecided 10-22-04, 03:05 PM Actually Brian, president Bush asked for permission to borrow $87 billion from China and the gang. So in the end of the day including interest, American will pay oh so much more.
spidergoat 10-22-04, 05:50 PM Yet Bush was going to veto that bill if it contained provisions for health care for the military, or if it the money came from rolling back his tax cuts on the wealthy.

China ! You gotta be joking ! I didnt know that , what America the worlds most indebted nation borrowing money from another hugely indebted nation ? It is obvious China does not have such cash reserves , but China has the ability to loan money . The question I now put you Undecided is which country will China borrow that money money from too finance such a loan ? Dont worry ill answer it myself .The E.U . So in effect how much interest will China charge ?

Thanks for sharing that with me spidergoat , thats another item of information I didnt know about .So in this scenario the U.S soldier gets punished twice . Once by the fact that he is grossly underpaid in a hostile enviroment and too rub salt into the wound private security guards employed in Iraq earn 10 times his salary . And the 2nd screwing is when he contracts the great lung rot disease from depleted Uranium he wont recieve medical assistance ! I dont know who was worse Saddam Hussein or the US administration lines blur .

China is not that indebted, I mean the Chinese are making loads of cash and saving it. They are very frugral with their money, and that has fueled this investment boom in China. It gotten so bad that the government has make loans to certain segments of the economy illegal because there is a fear of overinvestment, and overheating the economy.
It is obvious China does not have such cash reserves
No Brian China has the world second largest Foreign exchange reserves only second to Japan. Currently its reserves stand around $485 billion, Japan close to $700 billion, much of it in the US trying to prop up the US dollar and economy so they have markets. China is the US’ largest creditor according to the IMF about $165 billion is owed to China, that was last year now its much more.
The question I now put you Undecided is which country will China borrow that money money from too finance such a loan ?
China is making money; she doesn’t have to borrow money. Remember in capitalism the only thing that makes money is manufacturing, the rest is dependent on it. With $500 billion of FDI and growing we are seeing the emergence of the world’s premier economy.
lixluke 10-22-04, 09:39 PM $87,000,000,000 could feed the population of the earth for 6 months.
It makes me sad when I hear people supporting bush. We need someone anti war like Kerry but who takes their pointers from the Cato Institute. (Just a coincidence that my name happens to be Cato and I like the Cato institute)
otheadp 10-23-04, 10:25 AM the Cato institute?

if Kerry took advice from this guy, we'd have no more bin-Laden
lixluke 10-27-04, 10:45 PM I always liked Nader. Otherwise my second choice would be Cobb.
Infact most of the people that took the candidate test showed Cobb to be their ideal candidate. http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?p=699886#post699886
If everybody voeted for who they really feel is the best person for the job, than Cobb would probably win.
