How the hell did the person who was smoking the dope not get arrested as well? OK, the guy selling the bong on ebay deserved to get arrested (idiot!) Eight people connected to a South Carolina party where Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps was photographed smoking pot from a bong have been arrested, WIS-TV reported. Officers from the Richland County Sheriff's Department arrested seven of the suspects for possession of marijuana and the eighth for dealing, according to the station. One arrest included the suspected owner of the bong — who wasn't even at the University of South Carolina party in Columbia but was allegedly trying to sell the pipe on eBay for $100,000, WIS reported. The record-breaking Olympic gold medalist has not been charged in the case...
They all will never go to trial and all the cases will be dropped I'll bet because you can't convict anyone of smoking dope unless you have evidence that they actually were smoking pot at the time the picture was taken. Unless Michael Phelps or another co defendant says they were all smoking pot . The police have no evidence except the pictures and Phelps statement. That won't hold up in a trial.
it's a $100-$200 offense... more than likely less than going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone not sure a picture is really consider evidence in court.. even in a kangaroo court :xctd:
