Is what the weather report said about tomorrow. I believe them, because today it was -29°C. It's impossible to go outside.
While the rest of Europe are flooding because the weather has been too warm, we are freezing to death up here. At least all the birds and other small animals are...
    What is wrong?

    Two things-

a)-pollution is changing the temperatures of almost every region on Earth

    or

b)-the planet is going through a natural cycle in which temperatures flucuate periodically (like ice ages but not as powerful).

We got a massive snowstorm a few days ago, but it was nothing amazing.

You're living in the frozen north. Move to where the climate is warm year round. Warm is good.

    -36 c is almost the same as -36 f
    since -40 c = -40 f remember?

Heh...some people think when there is a sudden blast of cold air that an ice age is coming. this cold snap is probably just a NANOice age compared to the slow gradual process of what happened thousands of years ago.

Watch, next summer, when one sees 36c, they'll say, "global warming really is happening".

It's natural to presume things from sudden occurences, or is it?

It's freezing in the UK at the moment, but that's because we get all the shit from two confronting fronts!! It's so windy so whatever temperature it says on the forecast, it's at least 5 degrees lower (I'm talking celcius here)
We live on the same latitude (or is it longitude, never really had a need to say either before, meh!) as Moscow, but we are expected to have tropical temperatures!!

But no way is it as cold as where you are Beb!! You have my sympathy that's for sure.
I hope you have your water bottle

I know it's cold for now but I saw projections about 20 years ago that predicted this sort of weather. The general global temp is up a degree or two and fluctuatindgin weather patterns are to be expected. I know that's cold comfort to people who are freezing but this too will pass. The days slowly grow longer.

how much does it cost to heat your home with temperatures like that, doesn't everything just freeze up? I really cannot imagine it. Here in Cyprus it's "winter", with 20 degrees C and bright sunshine.

I'm from London England but I could never live in a cold, sunless country again.

Perhaps this is why Swedes are notoriously good in bed....
