So yes, I have attained the envied "3000th post" mark. Not nearly as prestigious (nor as sparsely populated) as the "3000th hit" mark in baseball, but nonetheless, an achievement in having massive amounts of free time to entertain myself through rational discourse (for the most part).

Your congratulations are in order, so please, give them to me in copious amounts. Or I'm afraid I must make more (horrific) fat jokes about David Hume.

In fact...

Why do they call Hume's argument against casuality his fork?

Because he ate so damn much!

HIYOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Well right now I just passed by having "007" in my post length. Therefore, I am James Bond.

But thank you, actually. I do appreciate it.

well done!!

A lot of thinking goes into 3000 posts, especially if they are usually well measured and considered which from my reading they invariably have been.

You may have some free time on your hands but is it not better to use that time to develop you most important asset, that being your mind?

And if you enjoy doing so then all the better.

Quantum Quack:

Many thanks for your congratulations, my good man!

And yes, Sciforums is most certainly a stimulating and worthwhile way to pass one's time. I am not at all ashamed to have set down 3,000 posts throughout my time here.

Thank you! I've always appreciated contributions, too, Mr. Most-Civil-Person-on-SciForums.

Redarmy11 and SamCDKey:

Thanks for the correction. They do look rather similar from that picture, though.

lol yep! where the hell is phonetic jockmacstein when you need him!

from the above link:
The strong Glaswegian dialect made the show quite difficult for those not used to it; the Ceefax subtitles were of little help as they were generally in dialect as well.
LOL bloody jocks.
