WEST PALM BEACH — A 3-year-old fatally shot himself after he found a loaded handgun in his great aunt's bedroom Monday night. Doris Jackson, the boy's great aunt, said she was playing with the child and his 1-year-old sister in her bed when the gun went off. "We was all in bed wrestling and playing, and I heard a pop," said Jackson, who watches the children while their mother works. "I was just shocked I didn't know what to do." At first, Jackson thought the sound was a rock hitting her window and she ran into another room. Her husband, Troy, ran into the bedroom and found the 3-year-old bleeding. One of Jackson's other nieces called 911. Police called the 8:49 p.m. shooting, at 3830 Westview Ave. in West Palm Beach, an accident. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/c.../1110kidshot.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=76
Stupid people. Don't they teach handgun safety to these idiots? I'm all about the right to bear arms and all. There should be a required course in safety, and a license showing completion of the course for gun ownership. Then, when a child gets hold of a loaded gun, and kills themselves or someone else, the gun owner can be held responsible for failing to follow gun safety laws.
Well, there's one thing we can say about this incident ....he probably learned a valuable lesson and he won't ever do that again! Experience is a valuable teacher. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Baron Max
damn, Baron. I hesitate to fling poo like that. You are the MAN! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Are you always that violent? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I'd bet that on other threads, you pretend to be perfectly non-violent and loving and compassionate and .....well, all that good stuff, right? Baron Max
I knew it. This idiot thinks he can have guns in his house, and he's going to keep it secure from his child, and never make a mistake to leave it out. Somebody already broke into his house, and stole one of his guns. He won't bloody learn until his daughter shoots herself.
thats alright, i surpose if he had shot his aunt by mestake HE would have been charged as an adult to right?
Haha! My thoughts exactly. Baron, you are seriously obnoxious, but I'm sure you'll take that as a compliment Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Yeah, everyone should always agree with you, right? And if not, you just wave them off as "obnoxious". You're not very tolerant, are you, Jessie? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Baron Max
And your compassionate meter stopped working long ago as you well know. Your bitter remarks can only bring an acid tongue remark back to you because you ask for it most of the time. I guess you enjoy "stirring the pot" whenever you can just to see who you can get a rise from.
What is "compassion"? Where does it come from? And is it enough just to say, or just to pretend, to be "compassionate"? Or is "compassion" something that can only be recognized in actual, real-life acts? If it's just talk, just psycho-babble, then if I start using tha kind of talk, am I compassionate? Jessie probably talks as a compassionate person, yet she showed me no compassion whatsoever ...in fact, she wished me dead. Is that how compassion works? Baron Max
If you don't understand what it is then you are not much of a educated person but we both know better than that , don't we. Why do you want to make yourself look foolish with a question like that anyway?
Not the place, not the time. For once realize your surroundings, and understand your actions have consequences. For once realize that you are not the only person in this world or forum, and others have rights too. But I guess your too intolerant to admit that, aren't you.
Good point. One thing that can be said of you is that you consistently project the same personality across all your posts – a vile obnoxious redneck assclown. BTW, way to dodge the issue. Not that we need to hear your opinion as we all know it already. You’ll defend America’s gun culture as though it had nothing to do with this child’s death. Leave Max alone! There, there Max. Shhhh. I've got you. Let old Ham protect you... <starts to bathe Max in butter>
I think my opinion of the child's death was clear. The gun owner should be tried for manslaughter. This was a stupid tragedy that could have been avoided had the gun owner expected to be held responsible. Fear of personal consequences is a far more practical tool than fear of emotional pain. Humans are too incompetent to comprehend the emotional pain well enough to apply it as a tool.
The gun owner was his Aunt, so you want to try her on manslaughter when her own nephew was killed. Isn't that going to be enough suffering she will have the rest of her life?
