24 hours. Each episode is supposed to represent one real time hour of a really shitty day. These are days in which Kieffer Sutherland never sleeps (unless he's unconscious or temporarily dead), never goes to the bathroom, never gets stuck in traffic, and there are generally multiple terrorist attacks going on. We're talking a really bad day.
