I notice there are allways hundreds of guest's allways browsing and usually a few dozen "members", can this be accurate? i doubt it is. Currently Active Users: 379 (22 members and 357 guests) would that be 22 members and 357 federal agent's?
Bots. Spiders. Webcrawlers. These artificial browsers also inflate the "Viewed" figures for each thread.
Hi Pete, Thats interesting. Most forums i check out have more member than guest, maybe people log out and use tabbed browsers..."Bots. Spiders. Webcrawlers" hmmm. I really think that counter is broken.
It's not just Bots, Spiders and Metacrawlers, Sometimes people search Google or other search engines and when they click the link it brings them to Sciforums, of course they aren't logged in when they arrive. If Porfiry ever showed a Log of "Referrers" you'd probably find alot of "http://www.google.co.uk/search" entries.
Hi Stryder, Hmm, I hadn't thought of that. John, I think sciforums might have a disproportionately high representation on Google compared to most other forums.
There must be an option to hide online status and many people may not log in. Here is a guitar forum statistic: Currently Active Users: 502 (361 members and 141 guests)
I accidently stumbled on sciforums while doing research on google. I think I may have misspelled a word in the search (can't remember what it was, think it may have been latin), which sciforumers have been misspelling for literally years.
Heh. Here are tge current stats for the Bobybuilding.com forums: 1878 (657 members and 1221 guests) Most users ever online was 5,217, 11-10-2004 at 08:53 PM.
Yes *sigh* every now and then he gives us a reference to the fact he body builds, it is now common knowledge that Absane is on his way to having a fit bod. We're waiting for Abs Ab pics.
I don't body build. I train to fight zombies. Absane should do the same, otherwise the zombies will just chew on his greater mass longer.
I read the forums a lot because they have lots of good information about weight lifting. They have a lot of good information for beginners. The program I picked up from there usually puts 40-60 LBS on noobs within the first 6 months (assuming I eat enough). Before then, I was kind of "in the dark" and had no idea what to do. HOWEVER, the only reason I posted the stats for that forum, which HAPPENS to be bodybuilding related, is because of the forums I have seen on the Internet, that one seems to have the most activity. Although, I am sure there are more active forums on the Internet. Any ideas?
Have they started their attacks? I see a few on campus everyday... but they do not look very threatening to me :bugeye:
noobs? is that a typo? one two many 'o's? You may want to rephrase that little sentance it reads thus (typo removed of course) lights on are best I think
A noob is a noobie. A noobie is a newbie. A newbie is a person new to something (or it can be a derogatory term for a dumbass). Nub.
Newb means an uninitiated or unlearned individual. A neophyte. Noob means an unskilled asshat. Cool skill could be considered a noob.
Whereas nob means penis. Just to clear that up. I'm not sure whether it's possible to increase penis mass via weight training - I have no experience this - but I'd guess that an increase of 40-60lbs (18-27kg) is beyond all reasonable expectations.
