Somebody said the world is going to end in 2012 This ignorance is really a bummer. Heres a word from someone valid: http://www.mayamysteryschool.net/pdf files/MayaEnd2003.pdf Hope this doesnt count as spam:/
Some predict it'll end this year...ask Nancy Lieder. http://www.zetatalk.com Anyways, I think there's a doomsday prediction for almost every month for the next few years.
2012 is from the mayan mythology (or actually, astrology...)... But it is not "end of world", it is a radical change (if it is right...)...
The world economy may collapse in 2011/2012 time frame but could recover in 2013. That would create some tormoil - but not the end of our civilization. What can destroy most life on earth is if a black hole forms close by where it shoots neutron radiation that is usually a few billion times stronger that your common microwave oven....even if we get a warning, we may not be able to prevent anything....
That was some bullsh*t mentioned on the X-Files, the season finale. Because the date is composed almost of complete 12's 2012, December is the 12th month of the year, and the 12th day of the month. Just another dumb theory with no logic or evidence to back it up. Just like all of those godd*mn christians who said the world would end in the year 2000, the new millennium. Hollywood garbage plays a role in this too.
My logic was based on a neural net simulation of the global economy which shows a major dip in 2011. So I figured, it may take a year to show the damage....but then again...foretelling future is difficult yet stock brokers try to tell you otherwise...
Sorry KMGuru, I was typing my post while you put your's up. My comment wasn't directed to you specifically.
No problem. I will be the first one to say that forecasting such events without specific event with specific contribution is difficult to predict. But, we are getting better with agent based modeling and hopefully as we get closer to the time, we may have some answers.
"maybe they just decided that 2012 was far enough on the calendar" "That was some bullsh*t mentioned on the X-Files, the season finale. " "I will be the first one to say that forecasting such events without specific event with specific contribution is difficult to predict" Truthseeker yes closer to mythology as the Popul Vuh was translated by researchers into astronomical events and places. Actually all over there have been research into mythology as just being metaphors for astronomical events and places. December 21, 2012 is the time when there is a major alignment with our Earth and Sun to align to the Galactic Equator, even the Galactic Center itself. Because of precession of the equinoxes (wobbling of the Earths tilt on its axis) this happens only every 26,000 years. The Maya even knew that the center of the Galaxy is a black only and recent science has just discovered this.
I accept ALL bets that the world will not end in 2012 or whatever date you mention. Hey, even if I lose I wouldn't be able to pay youPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Did anyone listen or bother to check the link? There are numerous confirmations on the black hole, one I saw in the paper, another one was on a discovery special. From an excite search: http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/astronomy/our_black_hole_000920.html http://www.msnbc.com/news/135107.asp http://www.cnn.com/2000/TECH/space/09/21/black.hole.ap/ http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/space/10/16/black.hole/ http://www.arabia.com/life/article/english/0,11827,29229,00.html
I did a find search for Maya or Mayan on the first link - nothing, nada... What black hole has to do with Maya? and where is it written?
Precession is the slow, 26,000 yr, change of the Earths axis of rotation. You get the same effect from a gyroscope It has nothing to do with alignments of the Sun, Earth and anything. But anyway, if the world ends every 26,000 years why is there no evidence of this? it means mankind has been destroyed several times in its history. Where is it written that the Maya knew a <u>Black Hole</u> existed. Or even that they knew what the Galaxy was?
I never said the world was going to end someone else did and I posted this thread to object. Its too bad I have to repeat this from a few posts ago. From what I remember about them knowing about the black hole comes from a couple books "The Mayan Factor" and "Maya Cosmogenesis 2012" It involves their altered states plus confirmation and validity of this from a famous Maya timekeeper/shaman still alive Hunbatz Men. Who also has star maps which are not from Earths perspective.
Ooops, you are right. Sorry. There was a part of "some one else said" I obviously did not understand or read Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
