View Full Version : 15 year old follower of Bin Laden...
I just read about this:
http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/01/07/plane.crash.suicide/
i was thinking about it... I'm 16 myself, i know a ton of kids who are freshman...
I relised I know a lot of kids that are EXACTLY like him, they are all over the place.
Not sure if its this article, but one out there just likes to label him as an "outlider" the "looser" in school everyone picks on... im sorry but, i know kids like that... i know what it feels for kids like that... and they dont crash planes into buildings... they arent mad at the world and sympathetic to people labeled as "bad"...
they tend to do the opposite: be more patriotic, try to blend in more with the rest of society. by crashing a plane into a building they DO get names like "weirdo", "dumbass", and "looser".
And this guy was a straight A's honors student... he had a great future... why give it all up and go follow Bin Laden?
What bothered me the most is that they arent releasing all of the note that he wrote... it was his last decleration to the world... it was something he wanted everyone to see and understand. The idea he wrote on there he was ready to die for to get the attention of people. And all they tell us is "a note saying he sympathized with Osama bin Laden."
Bah humbug!
Any opinions?
goofyfish 01-08-02, 10:48 AM As with many cases in the American media, you must be cautious believing what you read. This morning, National Public Radio carried interviews (http://search1.npr.org/search97cgi/s97_cgi?action=View&VdkVgwKey=%2Fopt%2Fcollections%2Ftorched%2Fme%2Fda ta%5Fme%2Fseg%5F136000%2Ehtm&DocOffset=1&DocsFound=1&QueryZip=charles+bishop&Collection=zeus&Collection=C1&Collection=WEB&SortSpec=Date+Desc+Score+Desc&ViewTemplate=docview%2Ehts&SearchUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch1%2Enpr%2Eorg%2Fsearc h97cgi%2Fs97%5Fcgi%3Faction%3DFilterSearch%26Query Zip%3Dcharles%2Bbishop%26Filter%3Dtopic%255Ffilter %252Ehts%26ResultTemplate%3Dsimple%255Fdate%252Eht s%26QueryText%3Dcharles%2Bbishop%26Collection%3Dze us%26Collection%3DC1%26Collection%3DWEB%26SortSpec %3DDate%2BDesc%2BScore%2BDesc%26ViewTemplate%3Ddoc view%252Ehts%26ResultStart%3D1%26ResultCount%3D10&) with Charles Bishop's teachers and classmates, who did NOT feel he was a loner, etc. The media feeding frenzy to be the first with the details (and to hell with their accuracy) continues.
We'll find out what really happened over time.
Peace.
Gravity 03-20-02, 10:39 AM I wouldn't read too much into it. He was 15! Thinking it would impress some girl, teach some bullies a lesson, show those mean parents a thing or two, make him immortal in memory or for real . . . ??? Who knows what the motivation was, and anybody who claims to know will be full of it.
Porfiry 03-20-02, 01:42 PM Humans are irrational. People do idiotic things because they lack the judgement and foresight to understand the idea of consequence. But, trying to reduce a person's actions to discrete causes or motivations is as futile as trying to analyze a dream.
I say huzah to the child. At least he died with excitement coursing through his veins and a unique experience.

Who cares? Good thing that he didn't kill anyone, f**k him.
He tried to kill people.
He killed someone, therefore a bad person, eh Xev?
So then, a nation in power, which chooses to kill thousands and supporter murders, is a bad nation right?
Trujillo
Diem
Papadopoulos
Videla
Smith
Stroessner
Sese Seko
Selassie
Rabuka
The list goes on and on of American-endorsed or supported (or even dictators put in power by the U.S.) murderers and Nazi-esque (or actually former Nazi!) leaders.
That's a different subject. Have you anything of substance to add to this subject?
Porfiry 03-20-02, 04:08 PM ...and excrement coursing through his underwear.
That's precisely the idea.
Or perhaps you would prefer to die so calmly and peacefully in you sleep that you don't even notice the difference between life and death.
Simple question, all needed was a simple answer!
goofyfish 04-18-02, 12:14 PM Salon, April 16, 2002 | TAMPA, Fla. (AP) --
"The family of a 15-year-old boy who crashed a stolen plane into a Tampa highrise is suing the maker of the acne drug Accutane for $70 million, accusing the medicine of prompting her son's suicide." (Full text here (http://www.salon.com/mwt/wire/2002/04/16/suicide/index.html))As it turns out, the drug does come with a warning
label about suicide - especially in pock-faced teenagers.
Peace.

That would do me just fine.

We can do it together!
You provide the Lambo or F-40 for the uniqueness, I'll do the driving
for the excitement. That is, unless you'd prefer to take a ride with me
on my RD-600 (not that unique, but still fun). :D
Take care ;)
daktaklakpak 04-25-02, 07:12 PM Horay!!! One less dumb ass to share this beautiful world.
Robeson 04-25-02, 07:41 PM ahhh, the weak get weaker and the strong...well you've heard it before. This kid was an idiot. Being not motivated by individualism but by wanting attention. Brilliant.
Tyler: Fine, fine, fine. America is a bad nation. Every nation is. It is their nature.
Now, back to the little brat:
I don't care how he died, but he had no right to endanger others. One less moron on a planet of 6 billion humans.
Wow, I had forgotten all about that comment I made.
That's actually kind of interesting.
Asguard 04-25-02, 10:22 PM this is really going to shock people (and probably put Asio on my tail) but there have been times when as well as being suicidal i wished i could create a virse that would kill EVERYONE on earth. This was because all i could see was the ways we hurt eachother and the world. i pittyed god because he had to watch us do it.
now i never did this BUT I can perfectly understand why kids get involved in things like this or in school shootings (in the US)
In this case it probably has nothing to do with anything the US has done and alot to do with reality for the inderviduall
Depression will do VERY bad things to a person
I read that the thing linking those kids in the school shootings is that they were all bullied
Anyone gess why they might want to hurt someone after that?
because the system let them down
Sorry but i can empathise with people like these
Robeson 04-26-02, 06:46 AM the system let them down? Huh? Since when does "the system" have the responsibility of parents? Also, if someone that is bullied can't overcome it and instead resorts to this lazy, cowardly act of violence I have no sympathy for them at all.
Asguard 04-26-02, 06:50 AM YES the system let them down
and YES i know what im talking about
There wasn't alot my parents could do
B\W BULLING is a "cowardly act of violence"
Many of us can empathise with them asgaurd....some of us, however, can also have a respect for human life. In which case, we understand that what they did was disgusting and un called for. There are other ways out of the problem.
Has he gotten a Darwin award yet?:bugeye:
And I would ask, did they try the system? They probably did, but not enough. In the Air Force we have something called the "chain of command." Remember this, because it might help you somewhere else. What happens is if I can't deal with something, I go to my supervisor. If he can't, we go to his supervisor. And so on and so forth, until we reach the top(just be sure that they know you're going up). If the teacher isn't worried about the principal finding out, and the principal the superintindent, etc. etc. until you're in court. For the student to do this, he must have the support of his parents, and that is where the failures occur most.
Shadowstrife911 07-02-02, 09:02 PM That description of the high school freshman is in stark contrast to authorities' portrayal of Bishop as a troubled teen who had a note in his pocket expressing support for bin Laden and the terror attacks.
Here's the perfect example of the propaganda that is displayed ever day on CNN, anyone wanna place bets on who planted the note?
In a generation raised on television, its hard not to trust it, isn't it ?

Peace.
GB-GIL Trans-global 07-18-02, 03:46 AM I totally empathise with people who shoot up schools, sometimes I've wanted to eat bullies' flesh, and it wasn't a pleasant feeling. Also I've wanted to shoot bullies with rifles before, however these feelings usually only lasted for a couple seconds.
And I actually thought while I was reading that article that somebody planted that note.
harrykarry 07-18-02, 11:44 AM i'm sorry that no one was able to defend you from bullies. people are cruel. i don't believe this kid was bullied though. it sounds like he had a lot going for him... do any of you guys have a pilots license? i sure don't. does your mom take you in and get you perscription acne medicine. mine didn't.
i don't think his parents turned a blind eye or were univolved. it sounds like the complete opposite of that. they may have noticed subtle changes in him but have you ever kept a secret from your parents?
i actually feel bad for the parents and for the kid.
this kid fell into depression and it sounds like his cushy, sheltered life didn't prepare him for that darkness.
Asguard 07-18-02, 06:45 PM So you can't be bullied if you have good parents?:bugeye:
thank you for that
i gess i can stop my antidepressants now because i can't be depressed
i have good parents i can't be suicidle
you are SO wrong:mad:
harrykarry 07-19-02, 12:51 PM Asguard
So you can't be bullied if you have good parents?
That's not what I said! I also don't think you need to be bullied to be on anti-depressents. Some things are physical and have nothing to do with your parents or with being bullied. Some things just ARE.
If someone is being bullied and no one helps them and they fall into depression, that's one thing.
The 15 year old who crashed that plane was not depressed because he was bullied. he was not depressed because he had bad parents. he was depressed because of physical reasons (possibly a reaction to the acne medication).
If you are being bullied and it is causing you to need medication then you need to talk to your parents and see if any solutions to the bullying are possible. Maybe you're a victim who can't find a way to ask for help. i will say a prayer for you and ask god to bring you relief.

this link is informative. sometimes it's better to look objectively at the darkness.... i know that it sometimes helps me.

Then I say we kill the US Government, eh? And most governments?
I praise the boy. Good luck to him in death.
