View Full Version : 128K Mp3's!

Is it just me, or has the horrid 128K quality resurfaced? I find my searches increasingly limited to 128K. I've noticed this on IRC and Bittorrent as well, and it is REALLY irritating. With internet connections going faster, can we PLEASE upgrade to something actually worth the cd it's burnt on to?

Sorry about the rant, but I hate 128K!

Robert

You're alone on this. I easily find 192K.....infact it is becoming the standard bit size now.

If you rip them yourself, might I suggest Ogg Vorbis? Much better sound, I feel. Vast improvement over mp3.

m4a will be shortly replacing mp3 as the new standard. you should also find more of those in searches, if you know the right places to look. ;)

So far only winamp supports right away it and that bugs me. Ofcourse no one can expect WMP to find the codec and install on its on.

I like the WAV format best. :p

How does one rip mp3's with CDex with decent bitrates?

It seems it refuses to go past 200 ...

192 is all the "decency" you need.

Use MusicMatch, and get up to 320. Or just go WAV and save your quality.

I have never had any troubles with CDex ripping at any bitrate up to 320kbps VBR or not.
