11/9/89 - The Berlin Wall is toppled. Bin Laden rejoices as he sees this as the result of the U.S.S.R. bankrupting itself fighting in Afghanistan. He then turns his gaze towards the hated U.S. for having a military presence in Saudi Arabia.
9/11/01 - For it's efforts in helping Bin Laden and other Mujahadeen fight the hated Soviets, the U.S. is attacked using civilian aircraft. As a result, the War on Terror is launched, first against Afghanistan, and then against Iraq.
